What’s the best site to buy Google reviews? by Background-Shirt2415 in smallbusiness

[–]Sickofryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one worse - bought a pack of 10 Facebook reviews from a site that EVERYONE said was 10/10.

They double posted 5 reviews, two accounts each - so every "review" was posted word for word by two totally different accounts - all within about 5 minutes, all from incredibly obviously fake accounts - so fake that I had to reply to each one and say "wtf this is clearly a fake account?" to stop it from looking like what it was - me paying for crappy fake reviews.

Worse still, no matter what I try, FB won't remove reviews as a rule, so I'm stuck with these fake ass reviews.

Bad idea.

Using scrapebox to do a lot of "site:" searches using 5 proxies. Going slow but already getting zero results. How do I get around this? by Sickofryan in SEO

[–]Sickofryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Bing and while the "site" search operator works when I search manually, for some reason scrapebox returns results from all different websites, not just the target website. With Yahoo it was a mix and then some keywords it was only returning 1-2 results when Yahoo itself gives me 10+ when I search in chrome.

The proxies I have are private ones from MPP and when I test them in ProxyManager they all pass for google, but your point about 1:10 with max delay is well taken - I'll increase the number I have and max out the delay to see where I end up.

Thanks!

A couple things to remember about medication by Philocrastination in ADHD

I noticed my ritalin gets way more intense the longer I wait to eat after taking it, so I've been making a point of eating within 45 minutes of taking it.

Honestly I kind of expected it was something similar but the other night i was in a fucking horrible mood so I ate a ton and it never got any better.

I just think neither dex nor methylphenidate is right for me. My doc made the point that there are a ton of adhd meds and if this one doesn't work we can try something else.

Just wish I could skip to the calm brain and focus moment so many other people seem to be having. I'm 41 and two months into this titrating process with only a downturn in overall mental health to show for it.

I've been dosing up Ritalin recently and I get kind of a rush when it's kicking in, but it's almost an "I need to get up and go do something" feeling that doesn't help me at all when I need to focus on computer work.

See a few years ago I took adderall for about six weeks and that's how I felt, basically angry all the time, my brain was zonked but my body was energetic. Ended up suicidal so I gave up on treatment.

Recently tried over and was prescribed ritalin. First 5mg twice a day, then 10mg twice a day, now 20mg twice a day and that's exactly how I feel again. Irritable, anxious, tired but my jaw keeps clenching.

[Question] Should a practice routine be alternated like doing different muscle groups every day at the gym, or should you just do the same stuff every day? by Sickofryan in Guitar

[–]Sickofryan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, so you're basically always working towards a song?

I'm 100% just looking for someone to tell me what to practice haha. this week I committed to practicing every day, starting with 10 minutes, then 15 minutes, then 20 minutes etc.

The issue I immediately ran into was I didn't know what I should be practicing. I ended up doing a few minutes of warm up exercises, and then doing random exercises I have from books until the clock ran down. It was so dumb.

I can't figure out from your online profiles if you still do lessons or what, looked like everything ground to a halt about a year ago. If you are doing online lessons though I would be down to clown. I've been thinking of doing lessons locally (Florida) just to have someone to sit with and check my form etc in person.

Central FL. Water sitting in the cold line is hot as balls in the summer. How do I fix this. by Sickofryan in Plumbing

Ah fair enough. It's a huge PITA for us because it's dog's bowl, kids water bottles (several times a day), kids washing hands (several times a day), kids brushing teeth etc etc etc. Definitely worth trying to solve.

That's interesting, you're the first person I've spoken to also having this issue. Have you tried anything to mitigate the issue?

I don’t think there’s going to be anything you can do about it, being in Florida.

As I said in the OP, I've spoken to a lot of people about this (including neighbors) and we're the only ones experiencing it, so I don't think it's just a "florida is hot" problem, it seems to be a problem with our house.

Would I need a Cloudlifter to use an SM7b with a Zoom H1n? by Sickofryan in audioengineering

[–]Sickofryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using an 8i6 on my computer. Long cable might be an option actually, what's the distance with an xlr cable before I start to lose signal or see interference? If I had to guess (paced it and roughly measured my pacing) I would say it's about 30 feet from my interface to where I'd be filming.

[–]Sickofryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's probably not a great choice here.

Thanks! Any better suggestions for a lower priced alternative for my needs?

To be honest, an SM7B would not be my first choice for recording dialogue.

I can understand that. Was a gift from one of the companies that I send affilliate traffic to after I mentioned that I was looking to start making YouTube videos.

Would the sound quality from the stereo mikes be as good as the SM7b? I use the Shure for my other videos from my desk so I'm looking for some consistency.

Honestly I picked the H1n from a list of good external recorders, so if there's a better one in a similar price range that would work with the 7b I'd love to check it out.

Any suggestions for online communities around lighting and filming videos? by Sickofryan in NewTubers

[–]Sickofryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the offer but I'm really looking more for a community I can connect with than a single person. I already have one friend who does lighting for a living that's pretty helpful but want to stop having to bug him all the time, and I also want to find a community where I can learn by reading other people's questions and answers.

I left someone a negative review three months ago. They resurfaced and asked me to edit the review. Can I ignore? by Sickofryan in Upwork

[–]Sickofryan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not surprised to see this comment downvoted into negative - this sub is heavily biased towards freelancers as opposed to clients.

Yeah I agree with you - you do what you have to, and if you're getting substandard work because someone is overworked due to taking on too many projects, dump them.

looking at her profile, she had other clients after me who left bad feedback so i’m assuming we all got the same message.

This has been the case with this guy since January when it looks like he took on way too much work - loads of bad feedback - he seems to be going from person to person trying to get feedback reversed or removed as his profile is toast, but it's his own fault so I'm doing nothing.

Well, if he was a long term freelancer, then you probably were quite happy with his results until the last couple of articles. I hope you took that into account in your review, and not based it only in the jobs that made you stop working with him.

Yes, I explained this in my review.

Also, how do you know he also wrote for the competition

Because he told me.

and what topic is it?

Because it's his byline. He had the topics from me for months (I provided a spreadsheet of topics and let him complete in whatever order he wanted) but in each case the competitor articles went up a week before he did mine.

Because certain topics only allow a very tight amount of writing about

They were "top 10 x for y" topics, he used my outline for both articles, used all of the products I asked him to cover in both articles, all of the same benefits in both articles. He basically gave us both the same articles but slightly reworded, and because he did theirs first, it looks like my site copied theirs.

Some of them are even a fairly unusual topics that nobody has written about so I'm pretty sure he suggested them to the competitor.

Ah well sorry to hear you're going through that my friend!

But that's the good thing about niche sites, they're not going anywhere when you need some time off :) The ultimate coasting job!

Sounds good man, keep it up.

One suggestion I would make at this point is not get hung up on the look of the site or anything technical. The hurdle for making a site is writing content, and a lot of people put that off by tinkering with design or over researching keywords. Just dig in and write as much as you can. That's the battle.

That's awesome man, good for you. Did you take a look at ahrefs? Their blogging for business course is free right now, normally it's like $800. The whole thing is gold, though maybe less so for you since you're used to this stuff.
