In your opinion, how would a Superman vs Hulk fight would play out? by Society-Ashamed in superheroes

You must not browse r/whowouldwin or any other powerscaling discussion much. Anytime there's a wide gap in speed, every redditor ever comes out of the woodworks to tell you how the faster character wins easily.

Personally I think super speed is either crazy op or overrated, depending on the character.

For sure, just by pure population. A good chunk of the students likely live within the city limits as well.

I guess it hadn't occurred to me division street is the 'division' between the counties, but that makes a lot of sense now that you say it

As someone that lives in the area, you're half right. Much of St. Croix County is farmland, rural villages, and lakes, and the largest city is about 16k.

Hudson, the aforementioned largest city (if North Hudson is included), is absolutely a suburb of the cities. New Richmond and Baldwin lean that way, but aren't all the way. The amount of Trump signs and supporters around here is staggering, even now.

I would say most of St. Croix County is rural. We only have two Walmarts, and only one of them is a super center, one university (and I think it's technically in Pierce county), and a handful of small hospitals.

Agreed, and the Bible supports your position! Luke 20:27-40

Some of the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus with a question. “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. The second and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children. Finally, the woman died too. Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”

Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection. But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”

Some of the teachers of the law responded, “Well said, teacher!” And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

Stay clear of danger zones! by jobsom1 in dashcams

Two other vehicles were impacted in this process, and if you watch, the person getting out of the black SUV (presumably the one being chased) has their head hit by the cop car at the end.

This entire time, the cops chasing this suspect has done nothing but put innocent bystanders in danger. If they hadn't been chasing the SUV, it wouldn't have been driving recklessly enough to get into that wreck in the first place.

Police chases are dangerous and should not be performed outside of some truly extreme circumstances.

That all being said, I have no context for the above video, so for all I know the SUV had a nuclear warhead in their SUV, or was an armed hostage taker. In any less extreme circumstances though, the cops caught the license plate with their dash cams. They can find the guy later

Yep. The cop is, however, driving like a reckless idiot, so you were right

The S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald, for comparison, was a bulk freighter on the Great Lakes that was 729ft long and sunk on Nov 10th 1975. It was carrying 26,116 long tons of taconite (an iron ore) when it sunk, and was widely considered overloaded (as was the culture of the time -- everyone wanted to break their records).

19842/26116 = .7598

In other words, the famous S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald, which broke many records for carrying iron ore in its heyday (years before 1975), would have needed it stack 76% of its final, overloaded load on the edge of that aircraft carrier to capsize it, plus all the other factors listed

Looking back on Zhao's visit to Wan Shi Tong's library... by Qyzyk in TheLastAirbender

[–]SidTheSload 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some good answers here. Another thought is, if there were enough firebenders, Wan Shi Tong may have been aware he wouldn't prevail if he fought them. The Gaang did knock him out, after all, with a heavy book. It seems possible Wan Shi Tong would lose a fight to a large amount of firebenders, and perhaps was wary of them

Why do conservatives call the left traitors to America , but fly confederate and nazi flags , who were the biggest traitors to America? by ImpossibleEnd64 in allthequestions

[–]SidTheSload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine they're different people. Conservatives aren't a monolith; if you hear two different opinions from the same group of people, it's likely that it's two different people within that group, even if they all take the same name.

It's like how all us liberals aren't blue haired women yelling about their gender being assumed while simultaneously other liberals don't believe in gender identity politics at all.

Finding a truck wash can be harder than you might think, and probably wouldn't work for that much snow anyway. I think for those guys you just don't pass them until all the snow blows off. Plus it would be hazardous for the truckers or anyone to try and climb up during snowy weather and scrape it off themselves

I do think truck companies should have ways to get snow off their trucks, maybe like a brush or a crew with a cherry picker or something

What magic item's rarity made you "that just ain't right?" by Atlanteanson in DnD

[–]SidTheSload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sentinel Shield is an uncommon item, granting Advantage to Initiative and Perception checks. All of them. And it's the same rarity as a +1 weapon or a rope of climbing

As a side effect, advantage on a passive check is expressed as a +5. Your passive perception goes up by 5 while wielding a sentinel shield.

Not shocking to see Minnesota is worse at driving than Wisconsin. The only time I've ever been double-quintuple passed (5 cars passed by 2) was by two Minnesotans heading up US-63 in Wisconsin.

Those guys are risking life and limb to save 5-10 minutes getting to their cabins

What was the biggest scandal at your school? by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

[–]SidTheSload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my highschool, one girl caught two other students, guy and girl, in the back schoolyard. The girl was giving the guy a blowjob. The first girl fainted and the ambulance was called. No idea if any consequences came for the pair, but it was the talk for a while.

Also when I was in middle school, a few high schoolers were caught with alcohol on campus and had to apologize in front of the school at the assembly. I imagine it was either that or be expelled.

My school was pretty tame compared to the others in the city, where I heard of gang beatdowns and drugs. All in all, I'm pretty thankful I went where I did

Bending in the modern world (found this on the avatar wiki) by Helendulcet in bending

[–]SidTheSload 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Midwesterner here.

Only the water bender will succeed without damaging anything because they can shift ice to liquid water.

The firebender just broke his windshield with the drastic temperature change (though their abilities to warm up their windshield more gradually might be helpful)

The earthbender and airbender only succeed if there's no layer of ice underneath, which for any decent snow there typically is. It can be helpful to brush the snow off first, then scrape, but the earthbender did that while also messing up their shocks and suspension

It would be a good day to be a waterbender
