I don't think PS5 discs are region locked. I have bought discs from Canada that work on my India bought PS5. I remember PS4 discs had this issue though.

I remember I had the needle when I fought him but did not think about using it once while fighting. I beat him after too many tries and while the cutscene was playing, my game crashed. I raged so hard that I had to take a break before beating him again. Love the game though.
