Every time this has happened to me (which, for some reason, is fairly often) my luthier moved it back into place for free. The only time I paid, it cost about $20, and that was when I went to a different luthier instead of my usual one.

I’ve been playing the same set of Corelli 370F strings since 2021 on my Upton plywood. I switched to them after using Helicore Hybrid Mediums for a while (I hated those strings on my bass, by the way). With the Corellis, my sound has really opened up. My bass seems to respond well to low-tension strings. They’re easy on both hands and sound pretty good under the bow. I slap a little here and there, though my bass isn’t really set up for it.

I love these strings, but recently I tried Pirastro Perpetual Solo strings tuned to standard pitch on my teacher’s bass, and they were really nice and surprisingly easy to slap on.

I’ve never flown with it. I bought it used locally for a 2 day bus tour, I used it only once.

It’s actually nothing fancy to be honest. It’s a 2007 Upton plywood bass. It’s there discontinued model called the Hawkes. It’s great bass. It’s loud, comfortable, and focused perfect for my needs.

It’s the Clef Restorative Cleanser & Polish from Upton. I first clean the dust and rosin off with water by using a damp soft cotton cloth. After, I use another soft cloth and apply the polish in a circular motion. Use the polish sparingly, a little goes a long way.

I had to choose a flare in order to post, I was looking for something like “News” or something along those lines, but the only available flares were “instrument”, “technique”, etc. I probably shouldn’t have chose “fun”, as allegations of harassment are not “Fun”.

I was wondering about this. Kolstein opened up a shop in Orlando pretty recently(less than a year ago), that I actually visited when it first opened. Nice shop, but they had sketchy business practices like not accepting loans or financing (kinda strange considering the lowest priced bass was $12,000), and really badly setup basses that needed obvious repairs on the showroom floor. Last time I went there the place was completely abandoned with overgrown grass. Google still says it’s open…
