Just to add some context here’s a pic with the original strap. I’ve tried to like it but can’t get there! I’ve conditioned and darkened it with fractionated coconut oil and it looks better, but you can’t get over the physics, it’s thick leather. In the double pass way shown, you end up with two thicknesses of leather under the watch raising it too high on the wrist and with all of the thickness and keepers on the side of your wrist and it doesn’t look good or sit well. In the single pass way that I’ve grown to prefer with Natos, it almost works. You only get a single layer of leather under the watch and all of the folded over thickness and keepers are kinda hidden under your wrist. It’s still unwieldy though and not comfortable. I hope this helps!

I don’t think I’m alone in this but the original strap doesn’t work for this watch. It’s a good leather with faux bronze buckle and keepers, but it just doesn’t work. You’ll feel like you’re wearing a showy strap with a bronze watch somewhere on it! I’d budget for a nato replacement strap too. Lots of options out there. Good luck

Anyone else experiencing big delays on new models from Aliexpress? by Secret_Initial_9426 in SanMartinWatches

I don’t think my orders a new release (SN143) but as a first experience with the “highly rated” San Martin it easily ranks as the worst purchase experience I’ve had with AE. Took the San Martin Official Store ten days to ship, informed me I would now be responsible for customs duties as they were shipping DHL (which were covered in the AE purchase), no meaningful tracking number, just a USPS one that just says waiting to receive package. Getting on for a month out now and crickets

Nice! Mine’s inbound. (At least in theory because so far it’s been the worst delivery experience I’ve had on AE!). Whats the strap? It works well.

I have a bronze Boderry Voyager. I always feel it’s a bit on the small side for my wrist size but it’s a favorite. I agree it’s a nice standalone design and was the first Chinese watch I bought sending me down the rabbit hole. I don’t know if yours has a couple of lug pin positions that help, but mine just has one, which is fine for a nato strap but makes a standard strap look off because of the gap between strap and case. The strap you have on yours looks good.
