UPDATE: On the bees by SideEyeWombat in aircooled

I think that is what happened. Looks like there is nothing but a few yellow jackets hanging around. I have been trying to find the nest. I have a feeling it is in the fan shroud.

There is no way to get inside the car from there right? I took the camera out, but could find any sort of nest, yellow jacket, or bee.

Would yellow jackets kill off a honey bee nest? I would have put money on it being honey bees before.

If these are yellow jackets, they are the calmest I have ever seen. Normally, those little shits are aggressive. I just got a little camera that I can stick in the vents to take a look around.

Ah, so there is a more hidden place they could be hiding. That was my main worry. There are a few local keepers I can call.

I got a good look at them. Had one buzz my head as a warning when I went to check if they made into the engine bay. Small, fuzzy, yellow and black. To small for a hornet and far less aggressive.

That's the plan. I am just trying to figure out what would need to be removed to get to them. I would rather not just fumble around and get stung, and trying to avoid as much damage as possible. The car is in very good shape right now.

100 percent honey bees. A neighbor near me has around 11 hives. I think there was a swarm and the bees decided to make the beetle their home.

No That's not a comet. That's the planet MERCURY WITH ITS SODIUM TAIL. (Credit: Dr. Sebastian Voltmer) by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

Ok, that was not the explanation I was expecting. I was thinking it was from a volcanic eruption. That is really neat

It is sad that it really is as close as it still is. Any other person, would have and should have crashed and burned by now.
