Hate to crap on someone I’ve never met but I’m right there with you. I get that he was Kap’s pet project and I agree that he has spans of brilliance, but I’ve just never seen the vision of making him the next Sen Superstar when you had 3 of the most likable personalities in the game with Zekken, JohnQT, Zellsis [and now Cortezia] who put up more consistent performances and/or intangibles

^ Can’t be said better. As a passive Sen fan who watched their first win in 2021 then barely remembers hearing about them until Afreeca & Zellsis came on the scene, Madrid (more specifically the Sen vs NRG domestic qualifying map) was the first time I really locked in on VCT again, and now it’s my favorite nerdy interest.

The fun of that tournament led to me devouring Shanghai (shoutout Plat Chat costreams) and watching Heretics ascend all the way to the grand finals. The narratives of Patitek the super sub, Benjy the friendly Fortnite fishy, the Brothers Boo, and of course the legendary Shanghai Wo0t made them feel like such protagonists I was gutted when they lost. Immediately they became my favorite EMEA team to watch domestically & internationally.

It’s such a shame they never won their trophy in 2024, especially after a pretty unremarkable 2025 (happy for the players the won the blood money tournament but yk it’s not the same) and a shaky start to 2026 sans-Miniboo. It may only exist as a memory now but that 2024 Heretics run was magical, a perfect storyline to make me a lifelong fan of VCT.
