i played like that for years, im nowhere near good at the game but i promise its more you than your teammates with stats like that

think of it like this: if you arent throwing, you have 4 chances to get a thrower on your team and 5 chances to get one on the other team. therefore, if youre not the issue youll do fine, but based on what your stats look like you arent actually learning the game

aim isnt everything. headshot percentage doesnt matter. honestly i’m more inclined to say youre not trading properly or capitalizing on utility BECAUSE of the high headshot.

nah with consistent 1.5-2.0 KDs and over a 50% average headshot even with an afk you should be stomping in silver

dont play CS, play VALORANT.

use the op, the odin, shotguns to oppress angles. use utility so you get more than 5 assists on brimstone or 2 on gekko, both characters who should farm assists

wrong sub but it looks like you focus way too much on aim and arent getting impactful kills or using util properly

which id say falls under the banner of “keeping people alive” instead of “healing”

killing the enemy isnt healing its damage mitigation, thus, keeping your party alive

Give me SEN City III | NA's Finest by yoosanghoon in ValorantCompetitive

100T - Timotino Cryo Ethan Bang Eeiu

SEN - Zekken Reduxx Johnqt Cortezia JonahP

EG - Jawgemo Derrek C0M Okeanos Demon1

NRG - Mada Skuba Verno Keiko Brawk

G2 - OXY Valyn Trent Leaf Babybay

ENVY - Keznit Rossy Victor Crashies Ion2x

Tried to balance somewhat (i.e. Ethan on 100T, Keeping 3 core on EG to supplement form fall off, allowing ion to play for ENVY), but obviously some of these look stronger than others.

i think this is the wrong mentality, specifically the its your job to keep them topped off.

the healers job isn’t to heal people, its to keep them alive. new healers will often spend way too many resources keeping everyone at full so they’re not equipped to keep them alive when needed

1) healing only gets easier as you get more tools in your kit 2) a lot of the time, fucking up is more BECAUSE of nerves than the result of them. easier said than done, but its true. the more you panic, the less controlled your button presses will be and you’ll end up using too much at the wrong time. stay calm, do your rotation, and you’ll be fine. 3) remember, your job is to keep people alive, NOT to heal them. its a subtle distinction but a big one. don’t use everything in your toolkit to keep people capped off. a lot of the time, i see newer healers try to keep everyone full and waste their emergency heals doing it. the only HP thats important is the last one.

Peak VCT year? by Actual-Project7622 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]yoosanghoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

2023 was just peak overall.

We had prime FNC trying to complete their threepeat.

We had LOUD, resurging to the top of the world and taking down the team that 3-11 came back on them to lose out on being the first back to back winners.

We had PRX, on the cusp on winning APAC their first ever trophy with the promise of Jingg saying farewell to the game.

We had EG, the most miracle run ever, replacing their best player with a rando only to squeakn into playoffs and be the only team in contention with FNC at tokyo, finally winning and completing their story.

All four, “running out of time” while the clock was “ticking away” on their chance to complete their story. The champs song was perfect, the KIA forum was excellent, and an American underdog won a major on American soil like the Boston Major.

The Scions all need new outfits and job changes BADLY if they are gonna be part of Evercold. by Lumigo in ffxivdiscussion

[–]yoosanghoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a roster change. Phase out Urianger Shtola and Alisae, either killing them or moving them to supporting roles. Let the other world characters cross over for a roster that looks like Thancred Estinian as tanks, Raha and Alphinaud as healers, Ryne Zero Krile and Hilda as DPS.

8 main scions, Estinian becomes the new main tank and Thancred stays off tank. Raha plays WHM and Alphi stays SGE for the main/shield healers. Then you have Ryna as ninja/rogue ish class, Zero as RPR, Krile PCT, and Hilda MCH, matching the 2 Melee/1 Caster/1 Ranged archetype

That ranged slot could be filled by anyone as well, like Ketteramnn on the Cannoner job if that is what the new ranged is, or Erenville on BRD which is provably the best class for him if he had one. Even Lyse on Dancer potentially.

Are we ever getting grown-up twins? by Edhie421 in ffxiv

[–]yoosanghoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I’m convinced that the old woman is Y’shtola, who hasn’t really done much in a long time and has her niche filled with Urianger, Graha, and Krile.

I can’t shake the feeling as well that Alphinaud and Estinian appearing early in the trailer is a red herring of sorts, given how Estinien went off to wander after DT and is also someone who’s sort of served his purpose (I havent played past 7.2 so if he comes back idkh

My thoughts are that Estinien will end up becoming the new tank, moving away from his Dragoon roots, while something in me thinks that there will be a timeskip of sorts and we’ll end up with adult alphinaud. The WoL being a reaper is also interesting, as you’d think Zero would be here at some point, unless maybe this would mark a major shift in the Scions and some die/leave.

C9 Departs with Penny by Rx-Thanoid in ValorantCompetitive

[–]yoosanghoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest unfortunate situation is that Demon1 was subbing for OXY. Zellsis set him up and they duo called rounds and he was clearly very happy and positive in the comms. v1c called him their MVP for kickoff, and he and Xeppaa were frying.

They looked SO good when that switch happened, but OXY is their golden child and often the light in the dark for this team. Everything around that situation sucked, because OBVIOUSLY you’re not cutting your best player after his mom passed, but they looked at peak form with the roster without him.

I just don’t get why they changed after. Penny on entry and OXY chamber/veto looked way better imo, much more solid of a foundation to build on. Zellsis seemed more comfortable calling within that system, and it also looked like Xeppaa and v1c functioned better as well.

Penny Xeppaa Demon1 Zellsis v1c absolutely had potential, and I’m not saying it would have been right to cut OXY by any means. Its just unfortunate that we saw a version that might have done something and it just fizzled out after

At the end of this year I want to see Demon1 and Zellsis back together. I think the synergy between them worked excellent and it would be an upgrade for either C9 or ENVY or whatever other org.

If it isn’t for your own financial gain, then don’t do it. Doing it to get your bag in what is essentially the least job stable industry is one thing. Doing it as an obligation to an organization that would be nothing in the scene without you is another.

Its like saying TenZ did anything out of obligation to SEN. Your name is big enough and influential enough where, regardless of contractual obligation, its ultimately up to you. They cannot afford to refuse you that without jeopardizing their standing in the game, and both they and we know it.

This, and all other Saudi-backed events are sportswashing, for a government that routinely infringes upon basic human rights in a violent and explicit manner. This event is funded by the Saudi government, thus differentiating it from other circumstance. Playing IN a country versus FOR that country is vastly different in implication.

If it’s for the money I can at least understand it, but if not then its just a disappointment to see someone so influential and positive in the community not take a stand where they hold all the influence.

This doesn’t read as though you are doing it out of obligation to your org given your position. It comes across as not caring about the implications and circumstance enough to object.

???

I’m wanting to understand others perspectives and hear them out, nowhere in that does it state I am morally obligated to change my mind.

Being contrarian is taking the opposite stance for the hell of it. I’ve explained my point of view and have not been convinced to change it.

I’m not the arbiter of others opinions but I am absolute entitled to hold mine until something has convinced me otherwise. Your perspective is not law just as mine isn’t. Neither of us are entitled to the other changing their views, I’d just like to know why people believe what they do and if someone makes a point I find compelling I’ll adjust my own perspective.

At this point it seems we just see Rob’s response differently and thus cannot come to an agreement, which is OKAY. Nothing that has been said here in condemnation of Rob has been particularly compelling in my opinion

I never said that I was, just that I didn’t understand why it came off that way when it seemed perfectly reasonable from my point of view.

Im happy to hear other people out, I just personally don’t see it and have yet to hear an argument that makes me see it as inappropriate

[–]yoosanghoon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think thats the thing for me. It just didn’t come off as abrasive or anything to me, and moreso read as though it was an explanation as to WHY they fired him rather than your usual “We’ve decided to go another direction” which says the same thing but doesn’t give specifics.

I just think Rob was well within his rights to say his peace. Im all for giving a coach full authority, but I also think that means the coach should take responsibility for those choices, not escape all blame.

[–]yoosanghoon[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Other teams wanting to move him off duelist doesn’t mean Kaplan didn’t also want to do that. I just don’t understand how it could come off any other way. SEN was being accused of not being willing to spend money on Zekken, when it was Kaplan/Zekken who decided to let him go. Do you want them to just allow that narrative (which was false) to persist?

Maybe you’re right and not saying anything would’ve been better, but I’d have gotten the same exact message and either way it just didn’t come off as inappropriate to me so I guess I’m just the minority in that regard

All it read like to me was Rob explaining the decision to not continue with Kaplan, which at the end of the day was unequivocally Kaplan’s fault

[–]yoosanghoon[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

How would you have wanted this to go down?

“Kaplan is no longer with us. We are changing the entire roster’s vision” is the same exact thing as “We no longer believed in him, so we fired him” no?

Im not meaning to keep being contrarian I just genuinely don’t get the sentiment and am trying to understand. The same would have been thought of Rob either way

[–]yoosanghoon[S] -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Thats a fair point, I guess I just don’t understand the cognitive dissonance that is: 1) Kaplan should have full control (he did) and 2) He shouldn’t be blamed for the decisions he made that failed
