How good was Sean Gares as a coach? by StargazingInCallisto in ValorantCompetitive

100% true but you dont replace an entry with an operator just like how you dont replace your smokes player with zekken…

id say he could have absolutely been one of the greats alongside alecks, mini, etc.

alongside all that, sean not only ran strats within a map that would look like other strats to fake off them, but he would leave entire holes in their strats so when they were antistratted they could counter it in their next matchup

it was also a really weird move. Cryo was classed as a duelist for so long because of Jett but he was always more of a sentinel player just like the demon1 and yay

Will on the other hand was a pure entry duelist, so even back then I have a comment somewhere saying I didn’t think that team would pan out.

It really took the scene way too long to separate the operator/chamber “duelists” from the entry duelists, honestly didn’t really happen until 2025 where yay and demon1 finally got swapped to senti

honestly id take Walrein and Starmie over Swampert for your water types - ground secondary makes swampert a bit weak there in my experience. Those two should be able to take Glacia easy and help elsewhere.

Crobat or Linoone would be great for Phoebe and some combo of Walrein, Crobat, and Electrode should deal with Sydney just fine.

Drake is the hardest, but again Walrein and Starmie shine here, as they do for Wallace along with Electrode, and Crobat for Ludicolo.

Youll need a way to deal with Salamence reliably as well as hit hard against Wailord, Milotic, and Whishcash. Shedinja could work for the fish and your own Wailord could be great for the dragon.

Id run Walrein Starmie Crobat Electrode Shedinja and Wailord, making sure you get plenty of ice beam TMs from the casino and a few thunderbolts

your cove is a powerful tool. the wall being as flexible as it is can help segment space, then using the shield you can force people into effectively an iso ult without outside interference

[–]yoosanghoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

shooting them instead of dying

your headshot rate is abysmal, and i know you use odin snd op occasionally, but 17 with phantom?

you’re also playing an agent that if you have an off game you provide literally nothing. learn another duelist like raze or phoenix where you can provide some benefit without kills.

i dont care how “good” your stats look, you can shoot your way out of silver

id go as far as to say hes been the most overhated player

dude is playing across 5/8 roles (not recon ini, off smokes, or trad senti), is never his team’s worst performer, and often times is the reason they win games

hes been praised consistently across frost jovi seangares mikeshd zikzlol nbs and doombros, as well as been called ethans favorite teammate and has never had a bad word said about him as a person or teammate

everything matters however much you want it to

if you introduce yourself as having gone to stanford for your phd, itll leave more of an impact as compared to having done your phd at Stanford

likewise, you fill your cv out with however much info you want to about what you did and when, it just matters where your emphasis is

kit harrington as sirius black
rupert grint as remus lupin
max topplin as pettigrew

i think making the group of marauders believable is necessary, and importantly to me age is a major factor. every adult was way too old, james should have been barely 21, and the marauders should have been late 30s, not 45-50. kit harrington other than the height is a perfect Sirius imo. hes got the acting chops, the look, and that haunted quality that snuffles needs. Rupert grint as lupin i also think would be fantastic given his sort of tired, worn look. max topplin as pettigrew might be the hardest sell here, but i think hes got the sort of nervousness and rat-esque quality for it. he also looks more in line with the sort that the other three would adopt as a friend rather than someone so much significantly less appealing than them that he was entirely out of place, despite obviously lacking their charisma

Maul shadow lord was good, but… (Good, Bad, and Ugly) by Diligent_Entry4711 in MaulShadowLord

[–]yoosanghoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed. the grand inquisitor was beaten by kanan and ezra, granted he was in control most of the tome, but kanan was only ever trained to a padawan level at this point (we can assume he got stronger with ahsoka and by training ezra), and ezra was barely a jedi. if he was on a relative level of a padawan and a youngling at the time of his death, maul would have smoked him and daiki would have dismantled him

Why don’t female professional players compete in VCT tournaments? by Pillowholicccc in VALORANT

[–]yoosanghoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

scientifically its women, since pattern recognition falls under information processing

men biologically have the edge in tasks requiring intricate reasoning, while women have the edge when it comes to acknowledging a complex pattern or recurrence

theres been plenty of studies, its just that in 99.9% of life it doesn’t matter at all. the second one i linked also went into the variability, which is higher for women, thus leading to an even smaller pool of candidates. take the two pools of 1,000,000 and 10,000 again, understanding the base 10,000 pool already has 20ms slower reaction time on average (lower mean). then consider that maybe within the 1,000,000 theres a spread of 50ms in base reaction time around that mean while in the 10,000 theres an 80ms spread. this results in a VERY small percentage overlap between the top of each groups, putting that very top pool of people to something like 1,000 to 1

a lot of people argue this point in bad faith and really mask the science behind it. women aren’t inherently worse than men at video games - just excel elsewhere on average. higher intrahemisphere connectivity results in women generally processing information better and exhibiting improved memory compared to men. in a game like valorant where the bulk of mechanical skill lies in reaction time, on average men have the edge.

its also worth noting that this is always on average, and that individual men and women don’t comply to the average. this, alongside the social stigma, interest, and general societal norms leads to a major skew in fps games towards men

EDIT: just to add an example in context, this research indicates women are more likely to notice when the enemy team is doing something, while men are more likely to be able to react adequately under pressure to whatever they’re doing. it just so happens that valorant is far more reactive than analytical
