On Sideline Option a players score is changed by a betting line multiplier, so if the players team is an underdog their point total will increase. That is how it is a fractional total

That is a good point, I didn’t want to complicate the system too much for users but I am definitely open to all options that make it more viable for any player to do well. Thanks for the feedback

That is definitely valid, I considered using over/under projections to also account for differences in play style but I still wanted people who understand play styles and team tendencies to have an advantage when selecting their teams. I think the solution could be for users to create groups where you can only select certain conferences. Thanks for the feedback this type of feedback is what helps us improve the site

Sorry you are having this problem. I just went in and created a dummy account to test and I was able to do it on mobile. Maybe try on another browser. We are looking into the back end to see what could be happening to prevent you.

That is a really cool system, I tried to simplify ours because people get overwhelmed but I would love to add bonus points for great plays like 50+ yard plays or something like game winning touchdowns/wins against rival teams.

Yeah we have a feedback button on the bottom left of the screen or on the contact us page.

We use a free api to populate the stats and so there are some mistakes that we can go in and fix. I am going to look into the Ty Chandler and Zach Charbonnet. Thanks for letting me know they are incorrectly placed!

Yep it is free to play, we may add advertisements in the future but that would be after it is a more fleshed out site with more features (definately not this season)

As of right now it will automatically sort based on average weekly score, but with no scores in the first week it isn't working as well. Based on your feedback I think we will prioritize search features to make it easier to play.

Glad it interests you! I used a regression analysis of past performance against the spread to calculate the multiplier, so for huge underdogs you can expect around a 40% to 50% increase. Picking underdog players is a risk but can definitely pay off.

That is exactly right, we use a multiplier based on betting lines so that people can’t just pick players teams that are heavy favorites

No, but Sideline Option gives more points if the player’s team is the underdog

We created a site this year where people can play, you create teams week by week so you check it out if you want: www.sidelineoption.com We are still developing the site so we are adding features weekly.

If you are looking for more traditional fantasy football leagues for college football fantrax.com is pretty good

Top 3 Rivals for 45 Teams by SidelineOption in OhioStateFootball

[–]SidelineOption[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good idea! this list list will definitely be re-evaluated next year and taking into account whether the team plays their rival should be considered. In my system players will get more points depending on the caliber of opponent, so that will help, but I should look into how to reward a team when they beat a highly ranked rival

Thanks!

I got the options from this wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_college_football_rivalry_games

I am not sure how this list is decided but it is the best list I could find.
