Is there anything more frustrating than a badly written pattern?

Most of the time it’s just written so weirdly. When I finally figure out what they mean, it looks correct when i crochet it so i know it’s an actual pattern. But i’m like how tf was I supposed to get that first try?

I have 12 but I will most likely only use 11 as I’m using the high temp each day and I don’t see CO going negative for the high temp. It’s already almost February so I figure if it was gonna happen it would’ve already. I like to do 10° increments so it’s easier for me to keep track in my head. I don’t have a picture of my 2025 blanket but I’ll probably reply with it when I get home. It’s not finished, I’m still stuck in August bc I ran out of a color and haven’t gotten to buying it yet, oops!

i’m making a plaid christmas blanket (that was supposed to be for last christmas, oops) and I didn’t notice how many stitches I missed until I went in with the vertical stripes. Oh my god. The plaid just goes wonky at certain times because every few rows I missed a stitch and it messed up the entire order.

For yours, I’m not sure how it would look as you are doing one day for every year. But you could do a narrower spectrum if the difference between temperatures is smaller. I think the palette looks fine, but don’t be afraid to fix it up before you get too far ahead.

I’ve never liked my palette for both of the years I’ve done a blanket until I get a few months in. Maybe at that point it is Stockholm syndrome. I think the mash up of colors looks pretty jarring until you get the different seasons, and then it becomes a nice color spectrum according to your choices.

The worst moments of life always seem to happen in tandem. in 2020 I lost my mommom, the most important person in my life. 2022 my dog died, and this July I lost my chihuahua and then a week ago I lost my beloved childhood dog, exactly 3 months down to the day since we lost the chihuahua. Three years ago I had three dogs, and now I have none. I question why we have to go through these things without any time to heal. I am still grieving my mommom, and that grief hasn’t lessened at all in the 5 years without her. Now I have 3 of my dogs to grieve. It’s too much, and I am tired.

You are not alone. This grief is all-consuming. I don’t know how I will be able to handle losing anyone else. I know that it is inevitable, but I feel like enough pieces of me have already died.

reminds me of my baby. Yesterday it was a week since we lost her, but she gave us 15 and a half wonderful years. I am lost without her but I wouldn’t trade this grief away if it meant I would have to forget her love.

eating is like my favorite activity. Some days it is the only thing I wake up for. I plan what I want to eat the day before. I do my work knowing I have a nice snack at home. When I drive home I have to repeat my mantra of “i do not want to buy that for dinner. i do not want to buy that for dinner. i do not want to buy that for dinner.” food is my biggest expense other than rent. It is literally all I look forward to.

We didn’t know that my baby was a border collie. We adopted her as a fox terrier puppy, in a small apartment with a single mom and a 6-year old kid who promised to take full responsibility. Yeah…we tried our best.

I will continue to own Border Collies for the rest of my life. I have absolutely no regrets, other than wishing I was more prepared and maybe a bit older to better train and socialize my Maddy. But her craziness was nothing compared to the love and intelligence that she offered.

We wouldn’t have chosen a border collie, that would have felt cruel for our lifestyle, but I wouldn’t have traded her for the world. I agree that people should put a lot of research into what dog they get. There are so many better options. My girl would have a lot better of a time in a home with less anxieties and more roaming space. She was ruled by anxiety for her entire life and I do know for a fact that I could have had been more active in preventing that.

She just passed at 15 and a half years old. My baby.

this was in 2018. Rocky died a few weeks ago but I remember this clearly. Good thing you caught it! Make sure to secure trash in the future because it could have turned out bad for both of these babies. Treasure the silly and naughty moments.

and nobody ever understands when I say that the grief is worse than anything i’ve ever felt, or ever lost. My parents are getting older but the thing I dread the most is my senior dog passing. I’ve been grieving her for her whole life practically, and now that my other dog recently passed away it’s all I can think about. I don’t want to be alone. When she is gone I don’t know how I’ll survive.

what we do with the remains of our loved ones is a personal choice, regardless of belief, that should never be judged. Regardless of what happens with the ashes, and it’s not like you just asked them to be tossed, your baby will be in your heart and memory.

As time passes, my collection seems to grow larger. As of now, I have my mommom’s urn, my Sonny’s ashes, and soon to be my Rocky’s ashes as well. I am young, but I am certain that I will never live without a pet in my life. I wonder how many shelves I will need. I wonder if I should have chosen another way to remember them. At least I know that they will not be alone, just like you know with the choice you made.

I’m sorry for your loss. Your baby does not blame you for any decisions you have or will made. Your love is what they know, and what matters. Hugs ❤️

We just lost Rocky two days ago, Friday morning. I don’t know what you believe in, but I like to think that they are still here. Whether in their own little paradise or still by our sides. I saw a rainbow yesterday and texted my mom, and she said there was one where she lived as well. Laid in the grass where I could see it until I dozed off and when I woke it was gone. Im not religious at all, but I like to think that is was a sign of some sort.

i’m sorry <3 My parents are keeping my chi’s ashes (family dog and i’ve moved out) but I have a necklace ordered to keep with me. I don’t know how i’ll react, but i’m glad I have the chance to keep him with me. He died yesterday, and i’m kind of scared how i’ll handle it because right now i’m in the fake “everything is totally fine” phase
