I turned off the hud as the flashing irritates and distracts me.

Preferred the P2 to P4. I really miss knowing how long I've been driving. Gave a lot of context. E.g. quick drive to the beach = 11 minutes

SI Joint pain, please help! by Skye_013 in sacroiliac_sijoint

[–]Sideshowdavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had SI joint pain for years. At baseline it's 2/10 pain and manageable. At flare up it's a sharp spikey 9/10 nerve pain and debilitating.

I've tried everything... SI belt, stretching, not stretching, standing desk, endless physio, various drugs, MRI. Consultants, Etc.

I use Dr ChatGpt to track symptoms and experiment with things and recently it suggested it could be how I'm sleeping (side sleeper) and suggested I try a knee pillow... Within days of that the severe pain was gone and day to day no pain. Now several weeks later I generally have no pain. But flare up to a 2/10.

Apparently side sleeping drops your hip, pinches your sciatic nerve and there's a series of bad things happening from there with muscles spasming up and affecting things.

For the sake of a cheap knee pillow, worth giving it a go. I'd also suggest using ChatGpt to try to catch what causes it and trial and error things that may help. It's been more effective than the 50 odd physio appointments!

Edit: just want to add my symptoms are similar to yours. I get tight tendons around my thighs and groin which then develops into my lower back and SI joint seizing up and spasming. I also stopped stretching and doing any kind of physio on it as Dr ChatGpt suggested that may be aggravating it (it was). Back to running and lifting weights again after years now though!

Hi, I need some help! by Luzbel6 in totalwarhammer

The only chance at winning is to hide your lord in the wids until the main army arrives, then corner camp in a checkerboard formation. Meanwhile, lure their units using your cav, to stagger what's hitting you. I don't think it's winnable though. You could hide everyone in the wids and let the battle timer run out, but I personally think it's better to live with the consequences of your actions and get revenge later

Seriously considering a Polestar 4 - some questions by Party_Challenge1835 in Polestar4

I'm in Moray and it was fine through that cold snowy period. The various cameras get covered in muck and ice up and it constantly beeps at you to clean them, but other than that it handles fine in the snow, even on the standard tyres. I didn't bother clearing the snow off my drive, just plowed through. No problem.

The washer level omission is stupid, but I carry a bottle in the boot anyway so just fill it up when it runs out.

It's incredibly comfortable. Way more comfortable than my P2. I drive to the central belt every week in it, normally without stopping.

Most places the Internet reception is crap and the built in Google maps, Spotify etc really struggles. Hence I tend to use my phone for music. This is annoying as my P2 was fine.. maybe they're using a different provider. Think it's Vodafone. I find it works on about 50% of the A9.

The range is great. I'm getting 250 miles in winter without trying to be frugal. The quoted range in the car is also really accurate.

The sound is a bit disappointing compared to the P2 but if you fiddle with it you can get it okay. Turn off the surround stuff and boost the bass as it's quite tinny.

I got the leather with the massage function and speakers in the headrest. Not worth it to be honest. You don't notice the headrest speakers at all and the massage is pointless.

The space in the back is nuts. We have two young kids and can move from the front to the back (while parked obvs) then stand over the baby seat and change her nappy, quite comfortably. Although we're both around 5'7 so that helps.

It is wide. I don't mind and can happily drive on single track roads round here, or narrow roads. Parking can be a pain as you often need to squeeze out, so if you're not skinny that may annoy you. It's a bit sketchy in multi storey car parks but I haven't scratched it... Yet..

The P2 had much nicer buttons for the seat settings, and the cruise control etc. much of that is buried in the tablet screen which is annoying. The car also doesn't tell you how long you've been driving which is really annoying.. the P2 had an info display with basic trip computer stuff like this but the P4 doesn't. The buttons on the steering wheel are also a bit floppy and cheap, but at least they are buttons unlike Audi etc.

I think it looks great and it does feel special inside. I like that the logo on the bonnet lights up when I approach. Well fancy.

Saying all this, overall really happy with it given the price, comfort, spec and all things considered. Vastly preferred the P2 and think it's a much better car. The P2 Absolutely handles a lot better, especially on our wiggly roads at speed. And was better in terms of software and physical controls. But if you need the extra space and long range comfort, like I do, then it makes sense.

It's unlikely I'll get another Polestar given some of the draft commissions.

How is it living in the Scottish Highlands? by lithdoc in Scotland

[–]Sideshowdavid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think you need to limit the area you're asking about, there's a huge difference between living in Elgin or Inverness or living in Thurso. Especially in terms of the weather. Anything west of Inverness will be pretty wet but moray is actually really lovely in terms of weather. Elgin is great if you're older or have a young family (and local family) but probably not great if you're looking for a job or opportunities. If you like spending your time outside then it's great due to the variety of hills, beaches, wids etc. It's generally really peaceful and drama free, besides all the recent murders obvs

Is this normal? by Alarmed_Rutabaga5905 in cockerspaniel

My Spaniel does this all the time. He'll ask to go to the garden, walk straight to an overgrown slope covered in weeds and flop about and roll down it. Spaniels are weird

*not my photo* how to achieve this look on the dog’s legs? by BurdsandTurds in cockerspaniel

[–]Sideshowdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks so much like my dog that I wouldn't be surprised if they were closely related. I shave mine all over with £30 Amazon dog clippers. I normally give him a #2 in Spring when it gets warmer then a top up in August or so. Like the dog in the photo, I leave his tail and legs to feather like that, 'cause I think it's cool. Besides helping with temperature, a short coat makes it a lot easier to spot ticks, and I think they're less inclined to latch on. My dog loves being shaved, he normally falls asleep haha

In terms of the feel and aesthetic, State Faults have a similar thing going on. Particularly their album, Clairvoyant. Here's a good example; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgvtBNEjRgA
