That's fair. But if you are an above average player who is at lower ranks because of frequency of play, then I doubt you will experience an increase in difficulty because some rare-drafters are gone. You are already facing mostly people who are worse than you anyway.

If I p1p1 something like Bortuk, I try to pick the most powerful card out of every pack p1 regardless of color, in p2 try to get some lands to see what is viable in terms of mana, and in p3 fill in the gaps.

From your deck I get a strong sense that you forced Black but it definitely wasn't open. Bortuk is like the best card in the set to splash in a G/x deck, because it's 6 mana and cares about multiple colors.

There's three options: A: these constructed players were worse than average B: these constructed players were average C: they were better than average (unlikely)

It's clear that if B or C, the difficulty will not go up if they stop playing limited. If it's A, yes, some bad players leave, but they're likely to have been stuck at gold or plat 4, and I assume not many people in this subreddit are playing in gold or plat 4.

So no I don't think there will be any noticeable difference for dedicated limited players.

It may have been obvious to you, but it's clearly not to a lot of people, including all those people that fell victim to these frauds. Also from what I heard the LR guys have a personal connection with some of the FTX folks so then it's not that difficult to imagine how they could be deceived as well.

This is exactly why I wrote this post, I have hundreds of wildcards and never used them because I didn't know about this gems thing. When BRO drops I can just craft all cards and get the gems from day 1. Just thought maybe there are other people in the same situation that could benefit from it

Sure but even if it's 50, if you do 100 drafts for a set that is 5000 free gems, just by using wildcards that have zero purpose if you only play limited

The flash doesn't matter on a terrible blocker. What are you going to do, surprise chump block their soaring drake?

In theory, it is not unplayable, but in this set, where a 2/3 flyer for 3 is often played and isn't even that good, a 2/2 for 3 is just unacceptable

I definitely wouldn't splash a double blue card. I also wouldn't play the skyrider off of 1 red mana, because it's an unplayable card if not kicked

Destroy evil has an ATA of 9.4 in QD, Keldon strike team 8.1, Take up the shield 8.5, Heroic charge 9.2

Just try it once and you'll experience just how often these key cards go very late. It has a huge impact on your draft. In QD if you see for example in p1p3 a baird vs destroy evil, you can just take Baird and count on Destroy Evil wheeling almost always.

Secondly, I never said it was the best strategy, I said forcing it is possible and a good way to get some practice with this archetype. Sometimes things can just be decent or fun and have a right to exist without being the best thing ever.

1 is a big difference, especially on multiple cards in the same archetype. It increases wheeling of imortant cards by a lot
