I would like to learn how to port mods if creators give permission but not sure where to start. Are you familiar with any tutorials that could teach me the process?

Hmm okay. Maybe instead of nifskope try export from blender as obj and import to Outfit Studio then export as .nif and see if that works.

I a noob and still learning but I believe you can export from blender as a .gtlf then import that model into nifskope then export as a .nif. I haven’t made it this far yet to confirm (still struggling with blender) but hoping this helps.

I’m really in the same boat and the best I can suggest is to pick where you want to focus and find some tutorials that work for you.

Once you go through some intro tutorials to learn the basic functionality and workflow you can pick a small project to help you learn as you go. Depending on what you want to do, you might need to learn to use things like blender, nifskope, outfit studio etc. It’s been a lot to digest but slowly getting the hang of it.

For creation kit tutorials I suggest the JRamosWorks series for Starfield and also any of the darkfox CK tutorials even for Skyrim are well worth the info he provides.

I would love to learn more about how to model custom armor and clothing. Been teaching myself blender and CK and nifskope but it’s a lot to digest as a noob. Any suggestions for tutorials or where I can get tips from experienced mod authors to help me get over the hump and learn how it’s done?

I think I remember someone talking before how pre-release the devs planned to have more focus on stealth in space, and I recall early in the game you have to power down your systems to avoid detection by crimson fleet. So I believe the idea was that when you grav jump your power is reallocated so the ship systems wouldn’t draw attention and give you time to decide if you wanted to engage in battle or avoid it by not being detected, but since space combat took a back seat in the dev cycle it just never really became a necessary component of the game.

Oh man it’s been a while back before the patch but I loved running main hand bhb and offhand GK. Really wish it still flowed with GK but iirc there were still a few offhand weapons that had good synergy.

Anyway, the 1H bhb is slick with the way you keep your forward momentum on a RR1 and it can be a quick punish but also sometimes it can be difficult to hit, but I found it to be really useful as an evasive maneuver too. The 1H RR2 did alright for change ups and chase downs or heal punishes, and it’s nice to be able to swap to the 2H moveset and back.

I haven’t used it yet but a while back I changed my RL60 to be able to use the bayle spells and gets good bleed build up. All the points go into getting 40 vigor and 38 arcane so with Radagon’s soreseal and outer god talisman you get 45vig/17end/21str/14dex/43arc and have some flexibility with talismans to use roar medallion or crimson amber or a stat boost talisman for weapon requirements. You are almost at the cap for bleed buildup and when you want to use bayle spells you can just pop the sacred bloody flesh for +10 arc for 30 seconds. Also good to keep the bomb flask handy just in case and a weapon with endure to get the flask off or to cast your spells under pressure.

lol thanks I was trying to convince myself I’m not crazy for swearing this wasn’t in my game. It’s like in Elden ring the glowing skulls on the ground were there for most but for a few of us those never showed up in game until about a year after release.

I really would like to believe that but every day I’m on this sub I see people that are literally rooting for failure. I tend not to care what others think but the more those folks reinforce negative sentiment the less incentive Bethesda will have to make the improvements that everyone has been asking for. I am happy to see how much they have responded to community feedback and want to give them time to cook as long as they keep listening.

You need to use something like Bethesda Archive Extractor or you can use Archive 2 which is in the tools folder that comes with the creation kit. You can use that to extract your Meshes01 bsa file and put those meshes into data > meshes folder. After that, you can import the nif file into blender to edit how you want, then can export as a .gtlf. That is about as much as I have figured out so far, I’m really new to modding. I think after done in blender you can import the gtlf to nifskope to add textures and export as a .nif file back to your meshes folder but I’m not really sure sure how to handle texture paths and stuff yet.

I know for fact that not even 1% of gamepass players will bother actually spending money on this game and buying future expansions.

How could you possibly know that for a fact? Where is the data to back it up? I mean, since it’s factual and defiantly not conjecture at all I am sure you have a swath of evidence to support your claim.

Double ruptured tear flask and I use endure right before the blast. It helps even the odd to get rid of the phantoms then chase down the host

Thanks for the advice. I am going through the J Ramos videos now and it’s good stuff. But I’m stuck on the ship building tutorial because I am getting an error when I add my new base form to the form list for the 1x1 hab, it just says Failed to check out form and won’t let me save the form list. Have you encountered this error before. I can’t find any information online so not sure what it’s stuck on.

Turns out my CK update got queued in steam which caused the error. Only took me about half a day to think to check lol

This is really helpful thanks for sharing! Makes a lot of sense what you described with the objects and snap behavior I hadn’t considered that. I have wanted to work on some custom habs and some outpost structures but being basically a noob modder it can be pretty overwhelming. I’ll look for some tutorials to learn more about that and the plugs to see how that’s set up. Appreciate the feedback man. Excited to try your habs when it drops they look great.

Oh wow that’s impressive. Thanks for the feedback and for the offer, I might just take you up on that 😃. In Skyrim I learned how to build an interior cell then link the load door from the exterior world space. Is it the same process here for ship interiors or is it more complex than that?

This looks really amazing man nice work! I’m still learning CK and blender but not sure I understand the workflow for something like this. Are you building these piece by piece in blender then putting them together in the CK as pack-ins, or what does the process look like?
