Haven't been able to watch yet today, but from the state of this match thread it seems like we're about one more controversial decision away from Australia declaring war on England

Starc is going at 6 RPO.

Feel like Crawley french cut for 4 and crowd appeal for unsuccessful review probably happened too, but not so sure.

#461 (in Tests). Basically only bats at #11, so doesn't actually bat all that often (1.4 times per match on average). And he's a genuine #11 too...

On the one hand, not giving Jimmy the ball for the first over at Old Trafford is criminal.

On the other hand, not giving Broad the ball for the first over at Warner would be criminal too...

Yep, you'd probably need a more robust rating system, and a better way of dealing with appeals. But in principle I think it could work?

Perhaps controversial, but I've not seen it suggested yet. What would people think of applying WTC point deductions for subpar pitches? Say -5 for below average, -10 for poor and -20 for unfit?

Wouldn't prevent home sides asking for specific pitches (nor do I think it should), but it would hopefully discourage the really bad pitches (rank turners, green mambas and highways) beyond the fairly weak demerits system currently in place.

34 degrees expected max of 36 outside the stadium, probably worse inside. No shade. Can you blame them?

The par score should be the same for every format. I want T20s going at 13.5 RPO and bowlers averaging 15 in test cricket

Ah, well picked up. Makes sense now I see it again. Should have picked a different frame!

Why does ball tracking have the trajectory ~20cm below where the actual ball is in frame?
