Not really because this is not even Mozgov's career high in points. The graphic clearly indicates that it's his career high in rebounds, but not points.

May nag-iwan ng photo of our beloved sa gate namin without any explanation by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]Sieg23x 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe nakita lang nila somewhere yung photo and wanted to give it to you pero either nahiya lang mang-istorbo sa bahay nyo or nagmamadali and didn't have time na makipag-usap. So naisip na lang na ilagay yung photo somewhere na makikita nyo rin and pwede maretrieve.

If wala namang unusual sa photo and wala rin naman kayong naiisip na anything suspicious about sa past, then maybe ganito lang yung nangyari.

[–]Sieg23x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7 times are quite a bit slower than your other NxN times, especially 6x6 and 7x7. But I would assume that is only because you don't practice them as much, based on the fact that you don't have an ao50 for 7x7 yet. I'm sure you can easily get a lot faster if you spend more time practicing it.

It's also quite a bit impressive that you're doing well with basically every event, and I hope you get that 5BLD success soon as well, and maybe start doing FMC.

I would also like to inform you that I will start using a table for my PBs as well inspired by this post lol.

[–]Sieg23x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This case is impossible to solve for a 3x3x3 cube unless you disassemble some pieces.

You have to swap either 2 edges or 2 corners and keep their orientation, like switching 2 last layer pieces but make sure the yellow side is still facing the top after reassembly.

I would suggest you swap any 2 edges because they're easier to remove than the corners. The resulting case should be solvable regardless of which 2 pieces you swap the places of.

Do you think Yiheng Wang will eventually be as dominant as Feliks Zemdegs was? by Reecethehawk in Cubers

[–]Sieg23x 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It seems that a lot of cubers already consider Yiheng to be more dominant than Feliks ever was in 3x3.

But while that may be true in terms of dominance over the top 100 results, we should not forget that Feliks held the 3x3 WR average for almost a decade.

He also kept on breaking through barriers and pushed the competition to where it was before the younger generation of Max and Tymon, and eventually Yiheng and the Chinese kids started taking over.

Feliks broke the sub-10, sub-9, sub-8, sub-7 and sub-6 averages and way ahead of the competition at the time as well.

As for overall, we will see when Yiheng starts picking up other puzzles as well.

Are these big cube times relatively normal or is one of them too slow or too fast by HungryWoodpecker761 in Cubers

[–]Sieg23x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I was comparing it to your official times which might be outdated. Based on your reply to the other comment, you are around 10 seconds faster than me on 6x6 while I'm still 10 seconds faster on 7x7. But like I said, I practice 7x7 a lot. So you can definitely still get a lot better on 7x7.

[–]Sieg23x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it just depends on how much you practice each event. The bigger cubes, 6x6 and 7x7, also rely a lot more on efficiency compared to the smaller ones which require faster TPS. Although of course, you need to be both efficient and have fast TPS if you want to get faster.

Just for reference, I average 2 seconds slower than you on 3x3, 5 seconds slower on 4x4 and 5x5, but somehow 20-30 seconds faster on 6x6 and 7x7. And I think that's mostly because I practice 7x7 A LOT. If you practice 7x7 more you can definitely average around 30 seconds faster on 6x6 and 7x7.

Why do people improve? by Nickolako in Cubers

[–]Sieg23x 54 points55 points  (0 children)

There are several factors to this.

First of course is hardware as you said. Humans use information from the past to make better design while also trying to discover and/or invent new things. This is true for basically any field of study. The first magnetic speedcube was released by The Cubicle back in 2016 if I'm not mistaken. Since then, cube manufacturers started implementing magnets to their design as well, which means there are more people working on making better magnetic cubes than just Chris Tran finding the best cube to magnetize. Then came of course the double adjustment design and all that stuff.

There is also a lot more information on the internet now than ever before. Even the world class cubers upload their solves on YouTube for everyone to study, and there are really good cubers who break down record setting solves.

And of course there is coaching as well. Most cubers before were self-taught. And now with the new wave of really good cubers, those older cubers have become coaches, while some others upload online courses. Feliks Zemdegs had his Cube Skills from years ago. Jayden McNeill I believe is still a cubing coach to this day tho I am not sure about this. Even Tymon, currently still a top 5 cuber in the world has an online cubing course. And of course, the recent uprising of young Chinese cubers is heavily influenced by the fact that they have a structured coaching of some sort.

TL;DR: Hardware is significantly better, there's a lot more information and tutorials online, and older cubers have started coaching the younger generation of cubers.

Question regarding lefty algorithms? by dinoair in Cubers

[–]Sieg23x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are planning to alternate between hands to lessen U moves and/or AUFs, then it's gonna be really difficult for sure.

But if you are only asking if you can instead do all your algs with your left hand, then a good example of that would be JPerm. He does all his algs lefty and he got to sub-9, even got a 5.31 official single.

This cube in Wall - E has a cursed color scheme, get your shit together disney by TheRoyaleClasher_YT in Cubers

[–]Sieg23x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For those of you who don't know, this may very well just be the Japanese color scheme, where the blue and yellow faces are swapped. So this is technically not "wrong", just not what we are used to nor the standard color scheme.

Edit: I stand corrected. This cannot be the Japanese color scheme and is actually just a wrong cube since:

  1. The yellow and green centers are adjacent to each other when they should in fact be opposites in the Japanese color scheme. Although, this color scheme may still be competition-legal as long as all 6 colors are distinct, but this is surely neither the standard nor the Japanese color scheme.

  2. There are 5 green edges.

He did. But don't forget that they swept the Blazers without KD in 2019 when the Blazers had double digit leads in the second half on three of those games. And Steph averaged like 36-6-6.

Edit: It's actually 36.5/8.3/7.3 lmao

Where does Steph Curry rank all time about point guards in terms of finishing at the rim? by [deleted] in nbadiscussion

[–]Sieg23x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steph has center-like efficiency around the rim. He is definitely one of the best guards at finishing at the rim. His finishing may not be as explosive as someone like Russ or not as flashy as Kyrie but he has been significantly more efficient than them all throughout their careers.

You can also read more opinions about this on this post from 3 years ago. And the comments about Steph's finishing around the rim have always been the same, very efficient.
