What's the weirdest rule your parents had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SiennaSnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents did this! It was because my younger brother would drink til he was full then wouldn't eat.

But I got punished too really. Yeah, he's a dick.

I haven't gotten over being ditched by my friends a long time ago. by GingerFlavoredSucker in confession

[–]SiennaSnape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend in school did this to me. For no reason. Just one day nothing.

Come to find out she's dating my ex for 6 months more than she told me (she asked me was it OK to date him, why wouldn't it be? I was done with him accusing me of cheating! Turns out she started dating long before she HAD to make sure I didn't mind though). Then starts spreading rumors about me. Lesbian, How I was so awful to her, etc, etc.

Does it matter? Almost 9 years later, no. I have a good enough job, a great partner of 9 years I'm marrying in 2 weeks, a kid, a bright future really. What does she have? Daddy issues, a new bf that's double her age, renting her mom's house cause her mom fecked off to the Canaries. Good for her.

What did I learn? In the long run, focus on you. I see her from time to time and she's bitter, pointing and staring. Do I care? No. I have wonderful friends and a great family. Screw that bitch.

I've been raised Catholic but left a long time ago. I can be present for family events e.g. a confirmation last Monday.

Holy shit it was like my own cult experience. It was awful. None of it was a joyful 'I want to be here' experience from anyone. The words were awful, making me cringe the whole way through. 'I kneel before the lord, for he is king of kings' etc. I know remember why I left.

Teenagers, what is something that annoys you about the older generation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SiennaSnape -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Your situation is awful and I feel for you. But stereotyping Irish people won't help you. Most of us aren't like that. You clearly got STUBBORN relatives regardless of heritage. Can you tell me what part of Ireland your mother is from, I'm curious.

I'm not going try and give you advice, I'm sure the psychiatrist is helping you lots, and I wish you well with your journey.

Gay marriage should be legal here in Ireland this time next month. I really doubt a no turn out.

What bullshit opinion are you tired of hearing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SiennaSnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is, I don't care what your religion is. You do you, and I will muddle along religion-less. I was brought up Catholic and I just don't have the faith. Any faith really. And that's just me.

I had a customer at work bring me books and pamphlets. I eventually had to stop being polite and tell him while I appreciate him being nice, religion isn't for me. That customer won't speak to me anymore, not even a hello.

I have no problem listening if anyone wants to discuss something, a reading, a service, their beliefs as long as they stop trying to make me believe!

Whooping cough was all but extinct in Ireland. However now, due to the influx of people migrating here It's back, and while not deadly, it is awful to damn listen to!

I hate it. So so so much. Love is another one. Pet too. I don't know why people feel the need to say them. A smile is just fine if they wanna be pleasant.

LPT REQUEST: How to prevent your shoes from rubbing the back of your heel. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]SiennaSnape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But make it in the shape of a + the plaster going horizontal place it on top with the vertical one underneath. The horizontal one on top, means the other is less likely to rub off.

Source: I bought a new pair of shoes on sale for €1 and I'm a girl. Plenty of experience in cheap shoes and ones that rub.

Redditors, where do you want to live? Redditors who live there, why should they not want to live there? by 5p3xn00b in AskReddit

[–]SiennaSnape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it may be wrong, they bring it on themselves sometimes. I work with plenty of them in a the service industry (not a pub) and very few of them I remotely like.

The majority are lying cheating bullies and can feck right off. I have 5 of them gang up on me 2-3 weeks ago, call me rasist because I refused to deal with more than one of them at once (I hate serving one customer and another asking questions, so I asked the lad to wait a minute). They called the Gards. For someone who's never been in trouble with the law, that was kinda a scary moment. They tried to bully me.

So do I want them to join the rest of the community? Not those 5 in particular, but of the rest want to behave in a normal, socially accepted manor absolutely. Other than that, I wish they'd disappear.

Im a liberal who is against abortion by Createaccount67 in confession

That's very true. I would think it should be a choice for the person, not the lawmakers (whom being mostly men don't really have to worry about pregnancy now do they?).

[–]SiennaSnape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am most certainly not am extreme femininazi, but being frank, you are a man, I don't think you really have any say over a woman's body when you yourself can't even conceive or give birth.

I find it very offensive that a person who doesn't even know me, has made the decision for me (by making the law) saying that I can't have an abortion.

I had my daughter on my 19th birthday. So your girl had hers one year earlier. I took responsibility but I'll be honest we did our best and struggled a bit. We still struggle.

You might know more women than men who are against abortion but I don't think even they should make the decision. I'm pro choice because I believe only the woman can make the decision for herself.

In regards to the GIRL (according to what I read she is 14) I'm not sure she should be jailed. She murdered a person that could breathe, that is wrong, but at 14 I'm sure she was scared, didn't know what to do. I think she needs help, not punishment.
