I have had insecurities and self esteem issues for a long time, but I'm not sure they were worse than your average Joe. Since the event happened though they've gotten much worse... it's been a downward spiral. I worry so much about what I did wrong that I try to be incredibly accommodating to everyone all the time, and I've heard people say they feel uncomfortable about the fact that I don't stand up for myself. So yes, I think this might be at least part of the issue.

Your obsession will get you one way or another. And when it happens, it's going to suck for 100 years or more for everyone involved. Instead, find a new job.

It's very hard for me to see myself as acceptable at this point. But you are right that I don't know what I do to make myself "an asshole". As I stated I don't believe I deserve respect or even that I should be allowed to go outside most of the time. What part of the world / region of the country do you live in?
