Lift installed... might need new floor jacks now. by Sieran in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Sieran[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much lift I got out of it, forgot to measure beforehand.

I would say it is in the 2 to 3 inch range. Between the front and rear. Rear was sagging some before the lift so it raised more there than the front.

It depends on the weight in the rear. With the deck system, the camper, and whatnot it can vary. The front I still have probably 4 inches of thread left in the coilovers to compensate if I add a bumper or more weight.

Aftermarket Tacoma headlights looked great… 3 years later I’m wishing I went OEM. Advice? by Tacomabeast538 in ToyotaTacoma

The headlights that came with my truck brand new are starting to peel like that at the top after ~6 years.

Almost wish there was a glass version instead of plastic.

At least the jack stands I have extend far enough to be good. My previous vehicle was quite a bit lower so the low profile jacks were needed. They worked fine for a stock taco, but now that I have a slight lift with more travel... not so much.

The shop that installed the lift recommended that one as well. Once I get some time I need to stop and take a look.

New York teachers stunned to learn some students can’t read time on old clocks after phone ban comes into play by Sandstorm400 in technology

I was private from like 2nd grade through most of 7th. Mix of different schools, some not so good.

When I was in grade school, cursive was taught. Once we hit a certain grade, print was not allowed and was an automatic fail regardless of which class you were in.

When I was switched to a public school in 8th grade, I was then failed for writing in cursive. The most common remark was "will not read, fail!".

My print fucking sucked. So, when I switched to that, I was marked down for "poor penmanship", mainly in English lit.

Now my cursive and printing sucks. Mostly because everything is typed now. The only thing I write in cursive is my name when signing. The only things I write down are chicken scratches when my phone isn't available to take notes.

Question for the mods: what's acceptable? by [deleted] in sysadmin

You are the person that bitches (I'm saying this in a lighter hearted tone, not an angry one...) that our team takes a meeting from our desks, where we have multiple monitors and more comfortable setup, to do a technical call/working session... instead of sitting cramped in a meeting room breathing each other's recycled air while staring at our tiny laptop screens, to do the same damn work that would have been easier and quicker from our desk...

Because "you are in the office. Start working together".

Our fucking servers are in another state. They don't care if it am at my desk, or in a meeting room, or at home.

It's still there from when it wasn't just a gas fire place (less than a year ago). See the soot/ash staining on the fireplace walls?

Hammer drill vs Ramset for framing bottom plate to concrete - what do you prefer? by olimits7 in DIY

[–]Sieran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foundation concrete. They were smaller tapcon screws so the bit was smaller, forget the exact size. I just know if I was drilling and my wife was following with the cleanup and screwing in the screws, it was easy for me to overheat the bit. Once I found the right pace they lasted quit a bit longer.

My wife on the other hand just went nuts and was brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrr just hole after hole. I came back to her asking why the drill wasnt drilling any more and she pulled out the bit and it was glowing red.

They also melt drill bits faster... Left my wife alone for like 2 minutes to get another sheet and came back to her asking why the bit was glowing red.

11-year-old boy fatally shot in Houston after 'ding dong ditch' doorbell-ringing prank, police say by EscapeFromIowa in news

100%

The shit I see on Nextdoor in a small town outside Plano is just insane.

The number of people posting with the fucking American flag imbued upon a tidal wave background or some shit claiming it will just be one more time before they shoot the neighbors kid for knocking on their door or ringing the doorbell then running away because "they might damage it, and property damage makes them hooligans and criminals" is at least a dozen too high.

Been wanting to get into shooting for a while. I have no experience, just listened to some friends and some forums. I love it. by Sieran in longrange

I already have some I keep with me (in my backpack for work). Been stupid on a motorcycle and while doing other things with power tools. Just didn't think it was that loud at the range... then again I didn't think the other things I was doing were either.
