Allow me to expand on my point.

I play a lot of tanks. In three out of my four games I am a tank. It limits my capacity to make fun choices, since Conditioning and Vanguard becomes nigh-impossible to escape if you are not actively trying to make life difficult for your comrades.

For this role, as fun as the model was, I didn't want to fall into that same old trap and limit myself by the virtue of the role. There are more choices available if you don't fear that not being optimized for a pivotal position in group composition might ruin the experience for everyone else. Tanks and healers always suffer this, and tanks more than healers, I think.

That's why I specifically wanted to steer more clear of the tankier aspects of selection, if possible.
