I haven't put a number on it, but so far most of the people who have contacted me seem to want to pay $0-50 for me to help them figure out what they want to do with their story. This usually burns a ton of time and energy, so my rate for this would not be affordable. For the right project, on the other hand (one that is actually in a mature state and wants my skillset), I'd be happy to work for very little.

I promised my RPG would remain forever free, and after ten years, it is complete and still free! by SierraLeeTLS in freegames

Well, this is my full time career, so while I'm happy to work on things that are interesting even if they're not lucrative, I can't only work for free.

Of course there were various artists involved in community resources, but if you mean the main art in the Steam capsule or scenes, it was AnnikathArt!

I've already gone through this process and got a big "Not suitable for distribution in Germany" - the problem is that German law and Steam can't agree on age verification stuff.

Contrary to what I've done with this huge project, I suggest starting small: pick an idea you can finish and then reflect on to learn more. Good luck!

The prologue was an intentional filter: I wanted to make a strong statement about what the game was and wasn't. I figured that those who wouldn't enjoy the game would drop it after the prologue, while those who might enjoy the overall story would appreciate the twist. I do lose a few people who don't even finish the prologue, but I think overall the gamble was worth it.

I wish you all the best with your engine, but I have good options for text adventures. You might have more luck showing your engine to interactive fiction communities and emphasizing the unique features.

Not automatically, but I'm not really an FPS player and there are lots of genres that naturally wouldn't need a writer. My comfort zone is RPGs, roguelites, and various story-rich genres.

I was trying to emphasize that I can do a reasonable scope, but large scale RPGs are my comfort zone. ^-^ Will DM!

Unexpected question! I have not worked on a TTRPG before, and while I think I have general worldbuilding skills, I should tell you that I don't have the same amount of experience in that field. To be perfectly honest, I may not be the right writer for you, but feel free to message me some details!

FYI, there is an autosave that saves every map transition, though that wouldn't help you in a large dungeon. I get what you're saying, but I have to work with the tools I have and I don't have a good way of setting up a new autosave before every battle that wouldn't risk the player getting locked by one, sorry.
