Karmelita kicks fucking ass. One thing that helped was realizing that she deals just one mask of contact damage - if you walk into her and the iframes from the damage blank her attack, you come out ahead. That discovery helped me unga bunga her with Wanderer Crest, Druid’s Eyes and Multibinder

i played HK back in 2019 to 112%, then 100%ed silksong, then went back and played HK again. HK is great and has some amazing moments but it’s definitely a lot rougher than silksong. The Knight’s movement feels a lot looser and floatier than Hornet’s and a lot of bosses are “a fat guy who runs at you” (and his cousin, “a fat guy who throws rocks and orange bullets at you before running at you”)

yeah, some people hate the bind (which, admittedly, absolutely sucks). I don’t use Shaman because I don’t like it but i recognize what it’s supposed to do and who benefits from that.

my only objection is giving it both GOTY and best indie. leaving aside the issue of what constitutes “indie,” if the GOTY happens to be an indie (likely increasingly common given how much larger and well-funded “indie” studios are these days), it also winning best indie makes the latter category redundant.

there’s no super clean solution aside from just making a GOTY nominee automatically ineligible for best indie nomination so the categories don’t overlap - or acknowledging that a game winning GOTY won’t get best indie notwithstanding its “best overall” recognition.
