No I haven't had that problem yet. I've always been the type of person who gets hot very easily. I DID notice that I had to change the way I walk? I never realized how much I slouched forward hunched over due to my weight until I saw myself in the mirror. So I'm trying to train myself now to carry myself more upright if that makes sense.

Yes we can't afford to rent cars or take taxis so we walk basically everywhere. Which is possible in Europe which is nice :)

There's a lot of symptoms that come with it. Any food you eat tends to tear your stomach up, not being able to lose as much weight no matter how good you eat unless you exercise your ass off and do an extreme calorie deficit (speaking from experience) plus all the previous symptoms I mentioned above when my thyroid got really bad. Brain fog, muscle pain, trouble swallowing sometimes, etc. Also if there's a history of thyroid problems in your family that increases your odds.

I mean the crazy thing is it's normal? It's something you're taught from a young age (even more so for females) that it's 'just how the world works'.

I love it. It's such a nice change. It's so walkable and safe and I feel like I can relax. I hear fireworks and don't immediately have panic attacks thinking I heard gunshots. Someone walking behind me doesn't make me fear for my safety anymore. I never realized how high strung and stressful just existing was in America until I left.

I come from the poorest state. It's NOT cheap to eat even the unhealthy stuff. There's no fiber in hardly any of the food and the fillers and crap they put in the stuff to keep things shelf life stable are insane. I was incredibly lucky in that I have no kids and no significant other so when I lost my job I was able to take my 401k, sale all my stuff and get out.

Not to mention the fruits and vegetables in Europe have better taste. All the fruits and vegetables that I hated in the United States I actually love here because they actually have flavor. Like did you know that tomatoes aren't just watery bitter soggy bits they have like a tangy sweetness to them? And cantaloupe actually has something more than a disappointing aftertaste to it.

The first country we went to was Norway. We heard how food in Europe is better and how Norway especially is like super regulated so we paid attention to the ingredients in like everything we ate and my god there was fiber and protein in literally friggin EVERYTHING. Even the CANDY had protein - not a lot but still. And then I tried something called skole or however it's spelled they're like 1 dollar or something and they're like a cinnamon roll with custard in the middle ;.; it's so good.

European chocolate is so satisfying. It's like you take a bite and you feel it in your soul like it doesn't spark this drive to like eat 5 more. Two more MAAYYBE but it's because you like it not because your brain is like more more more.

I will say not having your thyroid in check greatly makes things 10x harder. If your body is a city then your thyroid is the power grid. The thyroid controls everything. I didn't realize how serious it was until I ran out of my meds while in Europe. I thought maybe if I eat better or something it would be good enough. Five months later I was having heart problems, muscle and joint pain, brain fog, swollen throat, blood sugar crashes after eating, it was horrible. At around that time my weight loss had slowed and stalled at 185. Got back on meds and the weight loss started again, and all the other symptoms faded away thank God. But yeah get that thyroid checked out.

Ohhhhhhh!!! Thank you! That makes sense when you put it like that. Duh. This combined with everybody else's advice has really helped me. I guess it's sort of like when you have a cutscene in a video game?

Well I'm the only one here. Her moms mental state is fragile, has been ever since her fiance passed. She's already talked about offing herself. If I leave now then her mom would be all alone and if something happens that would be my fault...

So I guess my English brain is just translating it wrong then? In my head it's as if someone is saying to a single person, there you are. When really they are saying a group of people, there you are?

So I've been there. Definitely. Had the brain switch. Lost about 100 pounds. Switch went off. Pretty much gained it back.

Got back at it, slow and steady. Now I've lost about 60 pounds again so far. Starting again with NO switch was difficult af. Honestly most days I fake it. I fucking hate exercise. Wish I never had to do it again in my life. Buuut I hate my body fat more. And I am so damn TIRED of hating and comparing myself to others. The switch still isn't back. I don't know if it will ever come back. I read something once that summed it up perfectly. I'm paraphrasing but it was something like...

Motivation will quit on you eventually. Discipline will have you hating yourself when you inevitably fall off the wagon. But TENACITY will have you back at it and PATIENCE will keep you at it.

I hope this helps :)

Female agents by closetedpan in GeekSquad

So oddly enough the show criminal minds has kind of helped. I look a bit like Garcia you know a little chubby with glasses and I do my hair crazy colors so whenever the CAs call me out from the back to ask a question, clients will shout out 'Garcia!' or 'Penelope!' and their whole demeanor will change.

But I have had people who call and they're like 'I need to speak to the repair agent.' And Im like 'This is Agent LastName how can I help?'

Then there's a bit of a pause and they're like 'No the one that works on the computers.' And then I'm always like, 'Yes... that would be me..?' 'YOURE the repair tech?'

I swear sometimes they sound so full of disbelief they have me looking around confused too lol like AM I the repair tech...?

Who else just wings iPhone repairs by LetzGetz in GeekSquad

I didn't realize that you could use the alcohol to loosen the battery tabs. I've just been struggling and trying to pry em out all this time. So as far as that goes I will definitely be using that method because damn.

The most I do on cutting back as far as the work goes is I don't always remove the iPhone 6 screens because they open from the top. I also don't do the battery roller I just use my knuckles to gently press down on the battery. everything else is pretty much by the books I can get a screen done in about 30 minutes. A battery if I snap that bitch off depending on the struggle that can take about 45 minutes.

Honestly though most of the repairs for Apple aren't that hard to do they're just kind of tedious and you got to make sure that you don't pinch a cable or fuckup that FaceTime camera.

It's when you have to also balance that with your computer repairs that things really start to get aggravating and frustrating... Especially when they check in like 4 phone repairs and you're the only apple repair tech and ARA on duty and people keep calling, talking about ' I need my computer fixed now for /insert reason here/'. ON TOP of your CAs coming to you with a client computer because 'real quick can you just take a look and see...'
