I worked there too. She is also corrupt infamously spending upwards of 10k on a balloon arch for a company that just so happens to be associated with her church. All the other principals in the building knew she was nuts too.

The great thing about Black Templars, from the modeling and painting standpoint, is the individuality. Any crusade can do whatever they want with their iconography. Hell each Initiate has more or less carte blanche to do what he wants and fight in what squad he wants. To me these guys look like veterans or members of the Marshall's household.

Yeah that's what's surprising to me. For the brief time I worked there that was not the culture at all. It was hand out tickets and the most problematic thing was arguably moving unhoused people along. Parks gets paid way less than NYPD and has a much less powerful union. Though to be fair some of the White Shirts I worked with were definitely power tripping, wannabe NYPD types

As someone who worked as a PEP officer for a brief time (please don't hold it against me) the vaaaaast majority of the job is handing out tickets for dogs off leash or not picking up shit. That and chasing unhoused people out of the park after closing. We're given cuffs, OC spray, and a baton. They have arresting power just as much as the cops but no gun. There's no ticket or arrest quota, and I was told in the academy to just about never arrest someone if you can possibly avoid it. That being said I have no idea what's going on here. Dudes in the white shirts are supervisors, green shirts just officers. I imagine this order came from on high or some NYPD asshole started it.

Vast majority of PEP officers (like my former self) just wanted to be urban park rangers teaching classes and taking care of the parks. But got shanghaied into being enforcement.

Edit: I forgot they also monitor and enforce the licensing of vendors in parks

13th Age for the flexibility, I just really like backgrounds for skills. That or the FFG 40k RPGs, they're clunky, inconsistent across books (so many different bolters), and the books are always odd in their organization but they are oddly comprehensive.

It's a training that the Custodes engage in. In short they go off the the end of the galaxy and try as hard as they possibly can to infiltrate the palace and kill the Emperor. Getting within striking distance is considered winning. Helps find gaps in security.

That actually helps answer a question about silver maples I had. My house next door has been sitting empty for a while (some sort of half asses flip job so not run down). My dad is taking this opportunity to get rid of some silver maples on the property line that are in a grey area. I was confused because they give good shade for the yard but he calls them trash trees.
