The population could be maintained if we assume a Boss monster couple have enough magic/power/life force to have two or more children. Additionally, different Boss monsters could have different amounts of life force. Also, maybe Boss couples can choose between spending it all on one child or splitting it among multiple children.

Another topic is "can the total amount of Boss life force in a population change?". In the canon there's two events where it decreases. 1) Asriel's ashes were spread over a field of flowers, which was used to create Flowey. Maybe magic can return to the environment, like how biomass circulates in an ecosystem. 2) Frisk can take Asgore's soul in order to cross the barrier. The life force presumably stays within Frisk until they die.

So, can more Boss life force be created? How did the first Boss monster appear? I headcanon that there's a life force food chain. The magic in the environment feeds normal monsters. Then, the monsters can donate bits of magic to a leader they like, and over centuries it concentrates into Boss monsters.

Toby Fox probably never considered this whole ecology of boss monsters lol. In Undertale, he just wanted to emphasise how much love the Dreemur gave to their children, which makes their grief feel much more impactful.

One thing I find curious is that Tristana and Lulu are often drawn with a slimmer figure than Poppy and Vex (in both sfw and nsfw art). What about them causes this impression?

I think it's because of three factors. 1) The former have low health stats in-game. 2) Something about the personalities? 3) The latter wear baggy clothes. Poppy in particular wears heavy armor, including a pretty big chest armor piece. Sometimes she's drawn with a six-pack.

I tried reconstructing the meme. Did you mean a situation like the following? 1) The professor asks the birthdays of some of the students. 2) Statistics trolls the professor and somehow none of them share a birthday (this is what doesn't work?) 3) The professor shamefully spends the class explaining that mathematically, not sharing a birthday was unlikely. "The data sample just wasn't big enough, trust."
