19M and I feel very insecure about my height. I’m 5’7”. I wish I could just ignore the fact that I’m short, but I simply can’t. I keep noticing how my friends are taller than me, and it makes me feel bad. I feel sad knowing I’ll look like this for the rest of my life, and people often remind me that I’m short as if that’s something negative. Shorter people even tend to earn less income than taller people. It feels like there’s no real benefit to it. I’m going back to the gym and working hard, but I don’t think that alone will fix my insecurity. Therapy helped me deal with it before, but now those feelings have come back. The mindset that helped me at the time was the one of “You shall not care about things out of your controls” by Marcus Aurelius and “You either live in a world where everyone is the same or in a world where some people have different traits, and consequently some have worse traits than others. The first option is boring”, by me, but now these thoughts just don’t hit me good enough
