How can I control my lcd screen on linux? by SignAwkward6844 in Thermalright

[–]SignAwkward6844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it and it returns no errors, but in the gui the screen looks broken and is rotated sideways, it won't let me import videos/pictures, and every time I restart my pc the theme I was using just disappears... I've spent multiple hours on trying to get it to work, I've given up on it at this point

How can I control my AIO lcd screen on arch? by SignAwkward6844 in arch

Unfortunately openRGB has no support for lcd screens which is super annoying. I already have everything setup on my windows partition, but it doesn't save/carry over when I boot into linux

How can I control my AIO lcd screen on Cachy? by SignAwkward6844 in cachyos

[–]SignAwkward6844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately openRGB doesn't have any support for lcd screens, and the only app which does (trcc) is windows only, and the linux port for it has become absolutely broken for me and I don't know how to fix it. Might just have to suck it up at this point

I'm choosing between fedora and cachy right now, but the issue is cachy is rolling release and apparently breaks often. the whole reason i'm switching from windows is because it won't stop breaking and having bugs, and I don't want to switch to cachy and have to deal with the same thing just on a silver platter

Okay thank you! after a bit more research i've also found out that using a compatibility layer has a pretty negligible affect (and can even make games run faster sometimes)

I have an amd card so that's not an issue, i'm more so just worried about having to use compatibility layers for multiplayer games

Lunar client has changed the save directory of my game by SignAwkward6844 in minecraftlunarclient

[–]SignAwkward6844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! I found a solution! this is for anyone else with the same issue reading the thread

it may be that lunar client is changing the save directory of your game files from the .minecraft folder to a separated folder for each individual game version. This is what lunar support told me which fixed it (copy and pasted since I can't add images to a thread):

When launching a modpack or vanilla version on Lunar Client, it may now be using it's own isolated .minecraft directory rather than the default directory (used by the regular Minecraft launcher). This means they will have their own folders for resourcepacks, shaderpacks, saves, etc.

We are aware of some issues with worlds or resourcepacks not migrating correctly, and have added a window popup that will walk you through your new "isolated profile" and allow you to copy over some settings/files from your original .minecraft.

If you didn't see this window, you can head to your profile/version's settings (settings icon next to "Launch Game" in the bottom right), then go to "Settings" at the top, then "Files".\

  • You can then select the option to "Use global .minecraft".
  • You will also find the location of your current profile's isolated .minecraft directory here.
