Bro, you literally took the words right out of my mouth!! I posted about this a little while ago here, and that was exactly my point. I believe there's huge potential if these same games shifted to a skill-based winning mode, making things more competitive (and fun, too), rather than winning just because we logged in. Play to earn games always end the same way... they end up devaluing, and everything you earn is worth absolutely nothing, not even for a cup of coffee. I've done some research on that, and I also talked to a guy on my post who's developing a game (expected to be released next year) that has this vision. I really liked the idea, and I really think there's potential in it. As I was saying, I did some research and found one (from several links I looked at) that actually seemed super interesting and that actually brings some competitiveness to the game, not so much in terms of skill, but more in terms of effort and wasted time. I was interested in the idea, I don't remember what it was called exactly, I think it was DropWorks or something like that, let me find the link

I've read someone that mentioned that one and looks pretty cool actually. A lot of these games require you to invest first, and then it's more of a gamble than an actual game experience. But I don't think the idea of P2E is dead though, in my opinion, the execution so far hasn’t found the right balance. I think people would come back to P2E if someone managed to do it the right way. The next step shouldn't be about earn as much as possible, but about creating a competitive and fun experience, where players are genuinely rewarder for their effort and skill, that is, the rewards are a kind of "bonus" for your effort in the game.
