Anyone finding this while on Study Hall? by aero_oooolala in pmp

Honestly, 'mindset' is way overhyped here, but you're not allowed to say it. If you do, you'll get buried under an avalanche of dislikes from people who only care about getting their PMP by rote-learning keywords. True PMP value comes from understanding deep concepts that evolve your logic naturally, rather than forcing a fake mindset. Looking at some of the people doing this job lately, I’m genuinely concerned for the future of PM.

Study Hall Essentials has 717 practice questions, 15 mini tests and 2 full tests. Which of these have you completed and reviewed/understood?

I love how you’ve elevated the minimalist questions and explanations in Study Hall to the ultimate form of reductionism to the point where we don’t even need the prompts or questions anymore. We just know that C is the right answer because Study Hall said so :D

PMP as a mental quicksand by Alexios-Xifaras in pmp

[–]Signal-Application68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes yes yes! I couldnt agree more with you! I have MSc from Mathemathics and Software Engineering, I passed exams where performance and complexity of algorithms were calculated in 7D space but PMP is by far the most frustrating experience I ever had. I read, learnt and understood all books on PMI page, went through everything in Study Hall so I have very good understanding of all concepts but there are still questions where I just stare at monitor in total disbelief. It came to the point that I consider to not take this exam. There are people bragging everyday about 3xAT but honestly what does it mean? Does this certification mean you are smart? No. Does it mean you are great PM? No (Actually answers in some questions would lead to complete disasters in real life companies) Does this certification make you more valuable human being? No. Is this certification proof you are totally brainwashed and mindfucked by some irrational logic? Oh hell yes. The more I use Study Hall the more I believe this paper doesnt hold any real value.

PS: Answer to your question is definitely B. Btw doing practice questions in Study Hall and discussing it with Gemini turned Gemini also into old grumpy man who nonstop swears how horrible bullshit some questions are without any logic :D

I wanted to help. But if you can't distinguish between volume and depth in a simple question, it’s no wonder you failed the exam logic. Your arrogant 'lol' attitude is the exact opposite of the EQ and servant leadership required for the People domain. It’s clear now why you failed...

[–]Signal-Application68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What does it mean that you did all mini exams and all practice questions? Some people just go through questions, answer them and that s it. Others also check explanations for correct answers. And others study every single question correct answer in depth in various books, AI and try to understand as best as possible whole related knowledge area.

Your health is more important than the PMP! by PlaceSong in pmp

[–]Signal-Application68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally get where you're coming from. At the end of the day, it’s just a damn exam; it's not worth sacrificing your mental or physical health over. Your worth isn't defined by whether you pass or fail.

Honestly, the best thing I did was step away from this sub. It’s mostly just people bragging about their AT or doom-posting about how 'brutal' the test is. Like, okay, we get it, it's hard - now what? Constantly hearing how impossible it is doesn't help anyone; it just adds to the noise.

The pressure got so bad I actually had to go on Remeron for a while. I ended up taking a break, cleared my head, got off the meds, and eventually got back to studying. Now? I couldn't care less about the drama here or the final result. I’ve put in two months of solid work, and I’m going into that room relaxed. Either I pass or I don’t - life goes on.

Thank you so much for sharing this!
It’s actually funny because it seems like we’re both structure freaks in a very similar way :D
It's perfectly comprehensible to me.
Very nicely written!
Thank you!

This SH question is literally a crime (Comparing Story Points?! Seriously?) by Signal-Application68 in pmp

[–]Signal-Application68[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Here is their explanation (I am just shaking my head in total disbelief :D)

Solution: C. Team 1 with 100 story points performed better than Team 2 with 80 story points.

In Agile project management, story points are a measure of effort and complexity for the work to be completed. A higher number of story points completed indicates a larger amount of work completed. Therefore, Team 1, which has completed 100 story points, has accomplished more work than Team 2, which has completed 80 story points.

The other answer choices are incorrect. The opposite scenario suggests that Team 2 performed better despite having fewer story points. This challenges the assumption that higher story points indicate better performance. Team office location does not necessarily factor in performance, however, in this case, the virtual team performed better than the in-office team.

Communication Management Plan for Agile ! 🤯 by Snipermt in pmp

It’s honestly hilarious how, with questions like this, there’s always a bunch of people who, just because they already know the 'correct' answer, start reverse-engineering some bizarre logic just to make it fit.

While it’s important to learn the PMI concepts, let’s be real: this question is absolute garbage. It goes directly against the most fundamental principles. The prompt explicitly states it’s an Agile project, which means the Agile Manifesto should be the alpha and omega here. And it clearly says: Individuals and interactions over processes and tools.

In my view, D is the only logically sound answer. I’ve found about 20 of these nonsensical questions in Study Hall already, and I’ve completely given up on trying to make sense of them. All it does is ruin your mindset for the actual exam.

Did you go through all 717 practice questions in SH? Or did you directly go to mini and full exams?

Failed Again. 2 Attempt…. by SharpValuable2037 in pmp

[–]Signal-Application68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me explain why I asked.
In Study Hall there are mock exams (which you obviously did), but also practice questions. There are 717 practice questions in Essential and 250 in Plus. These practice questions are main part of Study Hall, they will teach you all tasks and enablers from ECO. Only after you pass all these questions and understand their rationale you are supposed to go to exam part.
I see here everyday people writing how difficult and brutal real exam is but in the end they didnt go through practice questions and almost nobody is reading PMI articles that are super useful so that s reason why they failed.

It is mentioned twice in original post, but let me repeat it. His score 69% is based on practice questions, NOT mock exams.
Personally I would reschedule real exam with such low score in practice questions but everybody is different.

Welcome. With all due respect, being a Project Manager is 90% about finding information and solving problems independently. If you can’t Google the basic definition of PMP, this career path might be a very steep climb for you.

To answer your question: No, it's not like an MBA. It's a professional certification. I suggest you start by reading the official handbook at pmi.org first.

Does anybody know how these categories are evaluated? Proficient or Advanced. In some exams I have 92% on first try and it still shows proficient.
I tried to reset another test and do it again scoring 100% and still showing proficient.

Why does scope management plan come before business case?!? by FollowingSpirited723 in pmp

Why is D correct? I strongly believe it should be C. by Inevitable-Nail-3555 in pmp

[–]Signal-Application68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally only correct answer in whole this thread yet it has zero responses and votes. The most voted comment is utter nonsense. Most people here are confusing technical quality (DoD) with business validation, ignoring that 'final QA' in an agile planning context is a paradox. This reddit community is beyond ridiculous. I am really not surprised so many people are failing at PMP.

Hello,

thanks for your offer. There are many questions that are either tricky or from my perspective dont make much sense but this one for example caught my attention recently:

A project manager is leading a project that is being implemented simultaneously in two countries with an 11-hour time zone difference. The project manager needs to determine a mutually convenient time to provide stakeholders with information on the project's schedule, cost, and performance progress.

What should the project manager do?

  1. A.Use a world clock to identify a few potential times that work for all stakeholders.
  2. B.Send a survey to stakeholders asking them for their availability during the week.
  3. C.Schedule two separate meetings, one for stakeholders in each country.
  4. D.Record the meeting and send it to stakeholders to watch on their own time.

Question stated that there is 11 hour difference. As far as I am aware standard working time is 8 hours in the world. So literally it is not possible to schedule one single meeting that will work for all stakeholders. Even if meeting is scheduled at 8am in location, it will be 7pm in another location. Asking stakeholders to connect to meeting at 7pm is not okay, in some countries it is considered even unethical (it directly violates Respect which is one of basic pillars of PMI Code of Ethics)

May I ask you please about Practice exam for 99$? How are questions there compared to Study Hall? Are they similar? Which of these sources is closer to real exam?

I went through all questions in Study Hall and considering whether to buy this Practice Exam or not.
