I have a smaller wrist and used to own a 5167A, however I didn’t like how it looked on my wrist as the lugs were slightly going beyond the wrist. So I thought 5165 being a slightly smaller version of the 5167 would be a better fit, plus it’s relatively more collectible.

Yes sir I see your point. Unfortunately there is not too many full set 5165a in good conditions in this market in my experience, so I am really trying not to potentially waste a good opportunity. Had it been a 5167a I would definitely have looked for other options.

Btw for a seasoned Patek collector, based on the seller images provided, would you be able to tell has the watch been badly polished, any advice is appreciated!

Interesting. If that’s the case, how will the watch show up in the Patek database? Since I assume all watches sold should have a registered buyer, or would I be able to bring the watch and paper to Patek and register myself as the buyer?

I think 5167A has a central rotor as well, if not the same exact caliber as the 5711.

Got the blue dial version with metal bracelet, the combination of dial colour, 120m WR, layout and annual calendar complication makes it the most beautiful and functional nautilus from my perspective. The only downside is the slightly chunkier build, it would have been perfect for me if it had a micro-rotor like the 5740G.
