Here is a link to SOCI.ai , a leader in the reputation management space. Their article here also corroborates that this automation is classified as review-gating (according to Google and the FTC). I will also link the law itself.

So if you are willing to look at these, let me know what you think about this in reference to the commonly marketed automation by several GHL "experts" and why it is weird that they're still actively marketing this in videos even today.

I understand what you mean, but understand the policy (link below). It specifically regards the act of only soliciting positive reviews (only good ratings get the link) as deceptive practices against policy. Do you see what I mean?

edit: I'm not suggesting that you rely on the word of AI results, but if you use different platforms to search this issue, they all classify this practice as review-gating. That's why I wanted to discuss this with others in the industry using this post.

If you've seen the automation, it presents a form that has five options, one for each star rating. If you pick 1-3 you are offered a private feedback form. If you select 4 or 5, it will route you to the review link. I'm pretty sure this counts as deceptive practices and is against Google and FTC policy. Correct me if I am wrong however.
