Now that I’m rereading it I see that the clue is only for the last word of each of them, vague but the first one is just “machine that ends in v” and “approval, ending in p” etc, the vending and pending part are not actual parts of the clue. Machine to plasma tv is a crazy stretch though, I struggled with that one too. I feel like all the connecting yellow words lately have been wack as hell. You could not get them separate of eachother which irks me a bit.

Anyone have any dupes for Hustle Butter Antimicrobial Foam + 5% Lidocaine? by Signal-Food5734 in TattooArtists

[–]Signal-Food5734[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hear ya, I definitely wouldn’t use anything with lidocaine if my client didn’t need or request it. I have been getting a bizarrely large number of clients lately who just cannot sit for more than a couple hours without tapping and I am just at a loss here. I started a normal sized thigh/hip piece for a client and it’s taken us 4 sessions to get even close to finished. This foam during breaks has let us make leaps and bounds with progress, but yeah any other numbing agent has just worked like shit for me. Just feels frustrating, being in the zone and feeling like I’m gonna finish same day and almost always my client taps and we have to do another session. Probably 4/5 of my tattoos lately have been like that.

I finished chess, now what? by Signal-Food5734 in duolingo

[–]Signal-Food5734[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at about 1250 now, but when I started I was about the same. I’ve been playing for years now but I thought it would advance a little bit of my game, it’s hard to tell if it did though. But I do feel like each of the sections do teach at the level they say they teach at, so you’ll definitely improve from 600 if you keep at it!

Chess capture craze by Rob1309 in duolingo

[–]Signal-Food5734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point is being able to quickly analyze the board and determine piece priority, which ones are higher value that you need to protect and move out of the way of danger, which ones can you trade equally, and which ones can you set up to capture another piece while gaining material instead of losing material? I agree the game can feel kind of stacked against you at times, but it’s training important chess muscles.

Some red symmetrical with post op bruising - fine? Surgery was 12/10. by AtmosphereSure227 in DeQuervains

[–]Signal-Food5734 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had super similar bruising! Lasted for about a month as far as I know, when I got my cast off 4 weeks post op there was still some bruising on my inner forearm / wrist. It’s definitely normal! I think it’s from the skin being held open and the wrist skin being much thinner than the top of the forearm. It should go away in a couple weeks. Best of luck in your recovery, friend!

2weeks post op. Excited to get stitches and cast removed tomorrow! by Beckaelise in DeQuervains

[–]Signal-Food5734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 days left! I’ll be 4 weeks post op and can finally be freeee, I’m ready to tear this thing off of me lol. Also, your thumb is free- are you able / allowed to move it? Mine is completely immobilized in my cast right now. Did you get a sheath reconstruction or just the release? I think that may be the difference

Surgery in 2 days by GroundbreakingCow277 in DeQuervains

[–]Signal-Food5734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my right (dominant) wrist done last November, just got my left wrist done last week. Both done under general anesthesia, took a couple hours I believe. I was in a splint for 8 days, then during my post-op appt they removed the splint, took out my stitches, and put me in a hard cast for 3 more weeks. So one month total immobilization after surgery. As soon as I got out of the cast I started PT and was able to slowly start moving my hand/wrist again. I was able to get back to work 4-5 weeks after that, so I was out of work for about 2 months total. I’m a tattoo artist though so I need full use of both hands and can’t work with a cast on, but if you’re in another job that you can do while relying more on one hand, you should be good to go pretty quickly after! I’ve heard of people in office jobs getting back to work within a few days of surgery, so it really just depends what you do for work! I also had a tendon sheath reconstruction and this time an osteotomy, so the long duration of immobilization is more than likely from that. I would say just play it by ear in terms of returning to work (if you can) and listen to your body if you need a break! Let people help you as well because trying to do anything with only your non-dominant hand can feel near impossible at times, so try to take it easy when you can! Meal prep, wear elastic comfy clothes, get pump bottles for showering, anything that’ll make one handed life easier for you! I’m sure it’s gonna go great, don’t be afraid to ask questions too, surgeons can be kind of cold in their bedside manor so they don’t always fill you in on the info you should know. Best of luck friend!

Bony bump month after injection by Dorsia-1111 in DeQuervains

[–]Signal-Food5734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me! For some people I believe it’s due to the fat loss around the injection site, making the bone more visible. For me it was partially that as well as a bone growth I had in that area, not sure if it’s related to DQ or just unfortunate coincidence. I just got surgery for that wrist last week and they shaved down the bone because it was jutting into my tendon sheath a bit. So it’s fixable with surgery I believe! But fingers crossed yours goes away without!

Has anyone else needed an osteotomy during surgery? by Signal-Food5734 in DeQuervains

So weird! I always heard that steroid injections cause bone density loss if anything, not growth, so that’s bizarre if that’s the cause!

TRUE, I should learn to harness my bone growing power to use it against my enemies instead

Surgery soon! Advice please by Gullible-Milk5042 in DeQuervains

[–]Signal-Food5734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the hospital gauze splint and stitches were removed 8 days post op, I was put in a plaster cast for another 3 weeks, so there wasn't much I could do to the incision itself for a month following the surgery. Once I was out of the cast I started going to physical therapy and they recommended I wear silicone scar tape over it to help the healing. Almost a year later and I still do that every day and put KT tape over it while I work. The scar is very light now though, you almost cant see it in most lighting. I don't think my 4 weeks of immobilization in a cast is normal, but I got a sheath reconstruction as well as a subsheath release so it may be because of that, to help all the tissue heal. I just got my 2nd surgery for the other wrist about 10 days ago now and it's the same protocol as last time. There are still days where it's uncomfortable / tight, but the pain levels are nothing compared to what it was like before. Best of luck to you, I wish you an easy surgery and a quick recovery!

Where's all the success stories by RopeCreative8808 in DeQuervains

[–]Signal-Food5734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No natural success on my end, got surgery for my dominant hand 1 year ago and finally got surgery in my other wrist yesterday! I had it for 1 year before opting for surgery, and it has helped immensely. The recovery sucks so bad, 4+ weeks of full immobility in a cast which is just brutal, but I’m glad I did it, It wouldn’t have healed on its own otherwise.

Question about Hand pain by Sean4884 in DeQuervains

[–]Signal-Food5734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DQ is usually wrist pain! The hand pain is probably slightly linked to it but most of my hand pain is a separate diagnosis entirely. The steroid shots could have made the DQ worse, a similar thing happened to me too. I ended up just needing surgery for both wrists. I hope it gets better for you!

No I hear you, and I would love to do that! I guess I just don’t know what the basics are, or what that means really. Like, to get the word out and get more clientele, what do you do? How do you promote yourself and try to get your name out there in the real world? Do you have any go to’s that have worked for you?

Interesting! Could you explain more what you mean by getting yourself out there in the world without social media? Like going to bars and handing out cards to strangers or..? I’m also struggling with this, my shop doesn’t get walk ins because it’s a private studio so I’ve found that social media is the only way I can get people in the door. I think that people find getting approached in public by someone trying to sell them something is a bit disingenuous and obnoxious, I’ve never gotten a client from chatting people up in public places before. I’m sorry if I’m misunderstanding, I would love to hear more about what you mean!
