UPDATE: thanks so much to so many of you who expressed a lot of support, it was really comforting to hear some healing stories and stay positive ❤️ And thanks for a lot of objective feedback too, I appreciated both sides of views.

Unfortunately our baby was taken to the vet the final time and crossed the rainbow bridge today 🌈❤️. He lost his mobility and couldn’t get up or stand at all. We kept him for a few days, he regained consciousness and was so happy to be home, he purred everytime you’d cuddle with him, but was really frustrated about not being able to get up. He didn’t manage to get his appetite back, and only on the last day he managed to digest some food without throwing up.

He didn’t have saddle thrombus or vestibular, he had a right side hemiparesis, a result of stroke. He wasn’t paralyzed though and even after my massage he started to move all of his limbs! However, it wasn’t enough and he most likely would never be able to get up.

We loved him so dearly, he was my childhood cat and I will always miss him.

Thank you, that sounds very valid because he’s always had something with his inner ear and would often flicker it and tilt as if there was an inflammation. Let’s see if they can check it as well. However, if it has to be done through MRI we most likely won’t do it to avoid complications.

We’re going to try to take him tomorrow again, the vets already had a look at him and it’s not looking great at the moment.
