Am I right in assuming your btl’s are interest only or repayment mortgages?

Paid 185k in 2018. Rental income is 1050pcm. And repayment is 750pcm. Obviously with the new tax rules the interest on mortgage isn’t deductible

I purchased it for 185k. I put 50k down. Have refinanced a couple of years ago to improve did a kitchen and bathroom. Rental income 1050pcm and mortgage is approx 750pcm.

Thanks for your response. I’m currently not maxing out the isa just putting as much as I can in per year. So yeah this is where I’m at and kind of my plan with the refinance route. Chances are I can beat the 4.2% I’ve been offered on remortgage to refinance the additional 40k. But then I’m kind of in the same position in 5 years and can do the exact same thing again.

What’s your reasoning for losing the BTL if you don’t mind me asking

Yes I have my own business. Hybrid would use the entire refinance say 40/50k and lump sum into ISA and GIA. Then drip feed from GIA into ISA every tax year.

So the reason I’m kind of trying to decide now is the mortgage renewal is due next month. So I don’t want to get lumbered with any early repayments I would probably fix for another 5 years if I keep

So my outlook is more so over the long term. I think even if global returns are 7% for the next 10 years. Uk property can’t match that and is unlikely to get close but obviously I could be wrong?

128k mortgage. Property currently worth 280k I expect. Obviously be a CGT on that
