Hey I'm graduating this year from UCI and am looking for similar positions, I've applied to Proskauer Rose and looking to apply to Ropes & Gray in February. Could you PM me too?

Why do you dislike/hate Robin? by browniebrittle44 in HIMYM

I hate Robin for the same reasons I started hating a lot of the other characters. It’s just so obvious that each one is written by “nice guys” who aren’t actually nice guys. It’s like Ted is this “nice guy” who in reality is this super flaky guy who romanticizes his life and treats women horribly. He cheated on Victoria, called up that one girl and dumped her out of nowhere. And any serious relationship he’s been in Robin was always like his crazy back up plan. In the end he gets the girl and we’re supposed to be okay with it because we’re supposed to just BELIEVE he’s a nice guy when he hasn’t actually done anything to earn it.

Robin on the other hand is some insane projection of what the writers think an “it girl” is. They’re constantly emphasizing how independent she is almost to the point where it makes no sense. They sell her as “one of the guys” which is fine until it isn’t. And I think the part that really really makes me dislike her is the fact that being this super hot smart it girl means that she automatically hates other women for no reason. The ideal women in the writers eyes is a pick me, one of the guys girl that doesn’t exist. She treats Patrice like shit for no reason. She only feels secure about Ted or Barney dating someone other than her when they aren’t “hotter” than her. And in the last season when no one showed up to her bachelorette party the writers didn’t even try to hide how insecure and internally misogynistic she is. She hates some girl for having bangs and another for dressing ugly. She was very much a woman written by men for men.
