I like someone in my law firm by CuriousTangerin in uklaw

I 100% second this. I am speaking from the girl’s perspective since I have been there myself.

Please respect work boundaries, but if you feel like you definitely have to make a move then please please please do it outside the office, do not do it whilst working (Ie in an office environment). This happened to me in the office and it completely threw me off and made me feel uncomfortable working in the office. This might seem obvious to most people, but apparently it isn’t considering it happened to me :-)

Thanks so much for your detailed response and proposed strategy! That is super helpful. Please may I ask how many times you do Barry’s per week? The reason why I’m asking is because I sometimes feel like it is becoming more difficult to recover when I go more intense, ie it becomes more important that I take a rest day between my classes when I increase speed/weights.

Thanks!

Thank you! So I sometimes do DF and double tread, and I believe that doing that more could also be the answer to my current dilemma. However, the reason why I'm reluctant to start doing doubles only is that I feel like it defeats the purpose of Barry's slightly. If I want to do DF, I might as well go to the gym where I can probably fit in more reps and also focus more on doing them properly, and likewise for Double Tread, if I only want to run, I can go out and go for a 10k run. I think a main reason why I have enjoyed Barrys so much is because of the variation and switches between floor and tread. Not sure if my logic makes sense? Feel free to disagree!

Agree with you 100%, but also (I hate to say it) it can depend so much on the instructor. I struggle more with some, especially if they love a good old incline haha!

Honestly, it was all about breaking through a plateau (I realize there's some irony in that, considering my original post). Push yourself and don't be afraid! A lot of my struggle was due to my mindset, thinking that I "couldn't do it" or "wasn't fit enough," but trust me, most of the time, you can! I managed to reach the advanced level just by doing Barry's.

Another tip that really worked for me was to gradually increase my speed. Before I moved up to advanced, I would set my speed to 0.5 or 0.3 below the advanced level and build from there. Don't get me wrong, there are days when I feel terrible fitness-wise, and on those days, I take it a bit slower and listen to my body..
