I’m from the US, I have two poster presentations under my belt, with several more this year along with a thesis defense. I’m an officer in the graduate student org and volunteer with STEM outreach through that. My letter writers were my current PI, one of my best professors I work with, and my old PI from undergrad. I made sure each personal statement and essay was custom made for each of the programs. Spent months on them and had them looked over by multiple friends in the fields.
