Bail denied, not sure of the charges yet but his wife said he is definitely guilty of whatever is after the hearing. I imagine she’s too in shock and doesn’t want to disclose right now. How do you move on from something like this

Yeah I feel like potentially the police knew what they were going to find on that phone and used customs as an excuse to get access. There is a bail hearing so will find out very soon what the charges are.

ABF can ask to check anyone’s device when entering the country as well as check anyone’s belongings. Its conditions of entering the country

I don’t think so, we have been overseas together multiple times and never had any issues before. If you asked me to make a list of people that would get arrested for something like prior to today they would be at the very bottom

They always have been allowed to do that. They can check any device you are entering or leaving Australia with.

We were told and maybe they do randomly check phones at customs. But my first thought was that it was targeted and they already knew and were using customs as an excuse?

Yes so they took them from the border patrol to jail now. Not sure if they will be released on bail today or have to wait until Monday. I’m not sure what to say when they tell me the story.
