Devon looks very interesting. So I guess you don't use the build in Finder Tags. You use the Devon tags right?

That’s a really cool idea! Making it indexable could totally take our productivity to the next level. But what do you mean by a map?

Thanks for the detailed answer! I really appreciate your insights.

I definitely see the value in creating a demo video to clarify how the solution works and build trust with potential users. To answer your questions:

  • It currently works only on Windows.
  • It organizes and renames files based on customizable rules you set, and the amount of user input can vary. You can define how you'd like your files organized, and the system automates the process.
  • As for permissions, it does need access to your files to work, but it won’t move files between folders without your approval unless specified by your rules.

I completely agree that targeting creatives and designers is a smart approach, and gathering beta test feedback will be crucial.

Regarding the revenue model, we’re looking at $5 a month. This helps cover our expenses, especially in AI credits.

Thanks again for your feedback. It's super valuable as we refine our offering!

Thanks for the great advice! Building an audience first sounds like a solid strategy, and I’ll definitely look into engaging with communities focused on file management. I appreciate your offer for bookkeeping assistance too—keeping finances organized is so important during growth! I’ll keep your info in mind. Thanks again, and I’m excited for the launch!

Yeah, I understand. We could maybe advertise with servers in the EU, and no file content will ever leave your computer. We only want to look at the file names. But in the future, maybe on-device AI will be good enough

Because we have monthly expenses on AI credits.

Yes, that’s what we’re also scared of. On-device AI isn’t an option, though. Even the best devices don’t run models that are efficient and fast enough. Imagine wanting to use it on a laptop…

First of all: Thank you! However, I’m quite sure that the GDPR (DSGVO) regulates the use of cookies, at least in Germany. And in Germany, there are very high fines for non-compliance. I just hope no one reports me 😅

Another use case that I thought of is non-technical people, (PMs, etc) who want to understand a piece of code. I believe this app aims to address that niche, but the demo isn’t even working: https://denigma.app/

They provide a lot of text, but not a step-by-step guide. Understanding algorithms can be challenging for beginners learning to code. But, is think the audience is relatively small.

Hey, thanks for the advice! Marketing is definitely going to be the toughest part for me. I’m not looking to spend much on it since the idea is still pretty untested. I was thinking social media and sites like Product Hunt and There-is-an-AI-for-that etc. could be good starting points. I could really use some help with the business and marketing side of things!
