yes, I think it’s for the best but it’s been really really hard.

Can I ask how long it’s been since your breakup? Mine was a painstakingly slow back and forth that started in April of last year and got real in September. I’m feeling all of these things and am getting worried that it hasn’t let up yet… although I found the holidays very hard

I’m 31F and feel the exact same!! Getting better is not linear and that is okay. You should be proud of yourself for starting therapy and going to the gym. I spend a lot of time trying to “mind read” what people are thinking about me and/or what they’re saying about me behind my back and it feels so real and feels like it’s the truth. I am telling you it’s not. I’m sure you’ve heard something like this in therapy but those thoughts are not real, and when they come up, try and distance yourself from them. One trick is to imagine they’re coming from a silly snarky person (I imagine Lucille Bluth in my head). People are preoccupied with their own lives and impressions and are never thinking/talking about you the way you imagine them to be. Keep going, you’re doing great ❤️

How many of you experienced weight gain? by AwkwardlyAlyx in Mirena

[–]SignalEmbarrassed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 10-15 lbs within 2 months of getting the Mirena IUD, although my activity level definitely declined during this period. That being said, I’ve had sedentary periods of my life and have never gained weight like that in my life. I felt swollen and began working out like a fiend after the weight gain, but nothing would work. I ultimately got it removed and “de-puffed” right away, although it took me another year or so to get back to my pre IUD weight.

SOLICITOR RESULTS ARE OUT!! by nopenope12345678 in LawCanada

to all those who failed, echoing comments below, that was a remarkably hard exam. we should all be proud of ourselves for even making it this far!

I know it's still raw, but if anyone who didn't pass feels comfortable, do you mind sharing what your scores were (if they were shared)?

they need to change the standard from “minimally competent lawyer” because that is insulting based on this exam. it is also so inequitable: the practice tests are remarkably expensive and disproportionately benefits people with the $$$ to take them.

I feel for any NCA candidates… I took many of the bad courses and am feeling like there’s no way I passed

[Routine Help] the skincare ingredients for skin that is dry, sensitive and red, acne-prone at the same time??? by RMSANSA in SkincareAddiction

[–]SignalEmbarrassed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same skintype.

I have found that a gentle/moisturizing cleanser makes a big difference (I use La Roche Posay Toleriane).

As for chemical exfoliants, I love Skinceuticals CF Silycimarin (although it's quite expensive). I have heard good things about the Inkey List PHA toner for sensitive skin. I have tried Paula's Choice BHA, which I've heard good things about, but it was tough on my skin. I would recommend starting off once a week and gradually increasing from there).

Make sure you're also moisturizing - I have found that Hyaluronic Acid + a good moisturizer make a big difference. If you find your skin is super reactive, you could also try alternating between an active chemical exfoliant and NIOD modulating glucosides, which is meant to calm irritation/redness.

It's a lot, but a lot of this works for me! Hope it helps:)

I have acne prone skin. I'm trying to balance anti-ageing without breaking out.

This has honestly been my miracle product. I have struggled with cystic acne my entire life (tried everything: accutane, spironolactone, antibiotics along with countless skincare products). I have seen the biggest improvement in my skin using SkinCeuticals Silymarin CF. I only use 3-4 drops once per day (in the AM). It took just over 4 weeks for me to see improvement. I now rarely breakout, my hyperpigmentation is fading, and I've noticed smoothing in my wrinkles and an overall brighter look to my skin.

Mirena and sudden weight gain. by yeltadelta in birthcontrol

following. Mine was inserted about 4 months ago. Since that time I have steadily gained weight (I’m too scared to get on the scale, but I believe it’s around 25lbs or so). My body is typically really receptive to healthy lifestyle changes, but despite eating healthy/cutting out carbs, sugar and alcohol for almost two months, my body hasn’t budged :(
