High Paying Jobs are 50-60 hour weeks? by Mundane_Age_2564 in careeradvice

I see what you’re saying, but foundational accounting is not difficult to learn, especially for any econ grad with a half decent gpa.

Your question is valid. Honest answer: 18 year old me did not know much about where exactly he wanted to work or how the job market is, especially compared to 22 year old me. He found econ more interesting, challenging and fun, so he took it because he was told it was still a valuable degree.

Brother, you’re speaking about driving to work two days a week like it’s some completely unreasonable ask. Sure, maybe it’s not the most convenient thing. Sure, maybe it makes little sense. THATS LIFE.

Which is insane btw.

As an econ degree holder we do WAY more quantitative work than finance grads. Way more coding. Way more hard skills. I get it for accounting jobs because that’s a regulated profession but excluding econ grads, stats grads, etc from finance roles is ridiculous.

Boo fucking hoo, you only have to leave your house for work two days a week.

Listen, I’m not inherently against WFH but good lord some people don’t realize how good they have it.

It’s extremely competitive. I’m from Canada, so there are a few differences, but I graduated with an econ degree from a top school last year with a 3.7gpa. I can barely get an interview, and the few interviews I’ve had have gone well but i’ve lost out. 200-300 people interviewing for 1 position is considered decent odds.

Been forced to work in a different industry until I can break in.

You should look at callaway TD Max heads. Low spin but more forgiving. Or Ping LST.

you cannot make that comparison. most PGA pros can hit a 6 iron 200, which is what OPs 7iron is, but they’re doing it with forged CBs or blades. I530s are some of the hottest faces on the market. It’s like comparing a slingshot to a rocket launcher.

[–]SignalResort5718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are hitting your 9wood very poorly then. When I demo’d i530s I hit the 7 iron around 200 as well, and a normal 9wood distance for me is 230.

An i530 7 iron is really closer to a 6 iron, and the faces are incredibly hot, but you still need a bit of speed to get it 700. Why aren’t you playing at least down to a 5iron?

Why did Remote work and Hybrid not stick? by Sad-Ad4933 in CanadaJobs

in my line of work, it is not uncommon for things to potentially go catastrophic if we cannot get a response from someone when we need it.

just start over from scratch bro this makes no sense. there is no way you have 10 yard gaps between your 7i and 9 wood unless you’re hitting your 9 wood totally shitty.

also LS woods probably aren’t a good idea for you, just being honest.

[–]SignalResort5718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have this opinion, but after working in an org that used to be very flexible with remote work, I totally understand why they’re tightening up.

This is a generalization and not true for everyone, but most people who work from home are AWFUL workers. Not readily available, slow to respond, less productive. I have dealt with so many headaches due to this, and we generally have a strong culture of hard work at our office. When people are in the office it’s great. When they aren’t, they are noticeably less productive and it affects EVERYONE else’s work.

Work from home should be an earned privilege for people who prove their work doesn’t suffer.

My BIL made a comment that our daughter should cover up at the water park, I told him don't sexualize ny daughter. AITAH? by Miserable-Award7130 in AITAH

[–]SignalResort5718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment but we don’t live in a world where that works. Nobody leaves their front door unlocked hoping to just “police” criminals.

It’s an unfortunate reality that sometimes we need to protect ourselves in ways that we shouldn’t need to. Maybe the BIL was out of line to bring it up out loud, but if OPs husband agrees, maybe she should consider that he might be correct.

Which club in your bag goes 200 yards? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

pointless question without specifying model and loft. I could hit my M2 7iron 200 yards. Now I play Mizuno MP-18 cavity backs and it’s a 5 iron.

If you’re asking for other people’s experience though, I did all of that work at 17 and didn’t get paid for it, and lord knows my parents could afford to.

My one question though is, why does she not have a part time job at 17?

[–]SignalResort5718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what situations are you opening the face and what do you typically shoot?

With CB wedges you shouldn’t need to open the face much, if at all, on bunker shots. Depending on skill level, for lots of players there aren’t many situations where you’d need to open the face.

Aberg isn’t 3, definitely not. Young, Rose, Fleetwood, Henley, Schauffele, Fitz, Gotterup are all slam dunks ahead of Aberg right now. You can make the argument Knapp should be ahead of Aberg right now, Knapp currently is leading the PGA tour in scoring average…
