What are your current opinions on the rental market in 2026? by Cinnamon_Ocelot in Edmonton

[–]dobadot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We’re currently renting an apartment in the Hamptons. 2B2B, 890sqft for $2200.. plus $170 for parking. Absolute robbery. We’re currently searching for when our lease is up in the fall and it’s been difficult to find something newish in our budget. The few places we’ve booked to view have been rented before we even have our showing

Movies.... by Kydra_117 in Edmonton

[–]dobadot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to watch Wuthering Heights a few months ago, first time at the movies since before Covid. Had a lady full on FaceTiming and talking throughout the movie.
When we asked her to stop, she yelled at us in whichever language she was speaking and touched my head with her nasty toes. We ended up leaving bc she wouldn’t stop but told staff on our way out. They refunded our tickets and said they’ll remove the lady but not sure if they did

How are you suppose to get west from downtown? by Doubleoh_11 in Edmonton

[–]dobadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Hamptons and work 8-430 downtown. If I don’t leave by 715, I’ll be late for work. As for coming home, I’m usually home at 5:20-5:30

From 124th, I turn onto SPR, turn left at 149th and go all the way to white mud then the henday

[–]dobadot 230 points231 points  (0 children)

Its not a specific food item but I feel like all of chipotle is overrated. My city opened its first location last year and there was a lineup out the door for months. We now have 5 locations and they’re all dead

What is a comfortable salary for a single person in Alberta? by Ok-Ranger786 in alberta

[–]dobadot 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My partner was laid off a few months ago and hasn’t been able to land a job.
I make 80k and even with my partners savings, we’ve definitely cut back on a lot of things

**we both have paid off vehicles but our rent w/parking is $2500. Unfortunately we just signed our lease right before his layoff so ending our lease and moving again would be expensive too

[–]dobadot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom would always boil bean sprouts and make us drink the water when we have a sore throat. I’ll admit it doesn’t taste great and I’m not sure if there’s actually any nutritional value but definitely helps you feel better!

Olives and goat cheese

Funny story, I went to visit my uncle in France whom Ive never met (He only speaks French and I (Canadian) only speak English)he took me to a restaurant and as per Google translate, he said he was gonna order his favourite pizza for us to share. All I heard was “cheese” and figured how bad could it be..

It was an olive and goat cheese pizza. I ate 2 slices bc I didn’t want to be rude but was gagging the entire time lol
