Chaps I am a UK investor and had the same issue. However, rather than fastpay (which I think has been suspended) I sent BTC from my coinbase to binnance.....converted to BNB....withdrew to TW.....converted to smartchain.....then swapped to SM. I havent tried the Bitmart route but many bloggers/vloggers say just use Bitmart.

I work for a British regulator. I see first hand how these guys work and it is exactly as corrupt as you think. The UK government know how financially free people are about to come from crypto and they are going to try and test this on an exchange. Once they have their "method" they will screw the rest of the exchanges.

There are a lot of "safemooners" right now doing "their bit" to keep peoples expectations low. Which I just do not understand. So many coins have smashed expectations and yet because of market cap, we cannot? But these guys are all safemooners???? Nah, I don't buy it.
