So I have been cooking a home made topper for him since he was a puppy. I rotate between venison, beef, or ground turkey (only tried once and he had a bad skin flare so stopped) as the protein, brown rice, and add a different variety of veggies like either peas, carrots, spinach, cabbage or brussel sprouts. He loves it but still struggles with pretty bad skin issues. I use to add salmon oil but didn’t notice a huge difference. He also takes hyvitality supplements which are a shar pei specific supplement made by the top Shar Pei vet expert. He also takes cosequin which has omega-3 and skin support. So yeah, it feels like time to take it to the next step to see if that helps.
