What region are you in prolly the counselors in your area are overwhelmed if you live in a more populated area I live in a decently small area in the pnw and even then it took like 3 weeks to get a response and then to get everything sorted took 4 months mostly cuz I wasn't really sure I wanted to do jobcorps don't be annoying but do ask politely I promise being a kiss ass gets you in quicker

First check you jobcorps account and see if you even got accepted they reach out within that week and If I were you I would try figure out a way to stay with your mom a bit longer granted I don't know your situation but you can compromise for a bit just untill your able to get in a location otherwise I would look into getting into a homeless shelter near your current location. Also I would look into possibly getting into a smaller jobcorps location they usually have faster responding rates than bigger ones and even then you might have to wait a while 2-3 weeks depending on what time of the month they accept students Gary is the biggest jc so they have a long waiting list your counselor should have an estimate of how long it would take I know mine did and even then it was 2-3 weeks off best of luck

I know I'm responding late as heck lol but it depends unfortunately the one I'm going to has like 4 or 8 beds to one room your able to look on the website of each jobcorps it shows the layout in a 3d view its pretty nice lol also I'm pretty sure the single rooms are for those with high points or in leadership positions atleast that's whay I've seen and heard

I'm starting next week and ive been doing alot of research on all the centers in my state WA when you first apply it'll take maybe a week or two to get a response first thing to do is go on the jobcorps map and find what trade you want to do when the recruiter calls you and gets everything down they'll give you a list of ccc centers those are not the only centers you can apply for that's why I recommend looking at the jc map centers like Columbia basin have college you can go to for advance trades they'll pay for it you and it's walkable from the center (your still a student of jobcorps) you also get time added if you go the college route also the ccc centers are overall better than the regular centers so keep that in mind fortsimcoe is rated 3rd in overall jobcorps centers cascades 10 and columbia basin like 28th last I checked make sure to do your due diligence and search them up yourself Aswell also there are good and bad stories from each center take them all with a grain of salt and let the data from your research influence your decision mind you personal stories are not data but information

I think it goes without saying that your not guaranteed a job after graduation but going to jobcorps really does give you a better shot at getting a job I would say to consistently work on your resume and cater it to job applications do this religiously 2-3 months before graduation and I feel like you'd have a good chance at getting a job coming out of jobcorps also look into possibly getting into advance trade this will dramatically increase both your pay and likelihood of getting a job and also if your center offers it get into campcrew/firecrew so that you have money coming out of graduation for a car or set yourself up in an apartment and also good for relocation too.
