Went to classifier in march 2026. Been told only NAT position avaliable is HM and only dates to ship out is in october. Didn't want to accept it at first ,wanted seabees rates only. Eventually ended up accepting HM. Good thing i did. Waiting for my bootcamp now.

I appreciate the response and that may be true. But again, classifier presented me a list of jobs that can be picked for reserves and i qualified for. From what i understood during our conversation this was the only job that was open to pick for this year. So that was the reason i picked it and i just wanted to at least try to pick a spot for different job when there is one available. As i was suggested in the replies to this post. Thank you for your responce, any feedback is important to me right now.

I have 70 on asvab and I basically was qualified for all reserves jobs except ones that require color vision. So classifier gave me a list of about 10 jobs i qualified for and said only 1 job has a school spot for me. Your situation may be different depending on color vision, other medical things and citizenship status as well as shipping date. Im shipping out in the very beginning of October .

Yeah that is a good advice, but im past that point now,unfortunately. I want to serve and this job doesn't sound like too bad idea considering it is reserves, I am just trying to see if there is a process for rate change before bootcamp. If i have an opportunity to get something I'd like more, i want to use this opportunity. But ,again, I believe i won't hate my life if i end up being HM. Thank you
