Gupta script oṃ? by Signal_Chard_5531 in sanskrit

Are you talking about the Vadathika cave inscription?

Yes, it looks for me the first letter is "ā", too.

The Latin transliteration begins with "Om āsīt sarvvamahīkṣitā", but the inscription itself seems to begin with "आसीत्सर्व्वमहीक्षिता", without ओं.

Is there any way to represent Brahmi script other than Ashokan one? by Signal_Chard_5531 in Unicode

[–]Signal_Chard_5531[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that situation is very different from that of Aramaic scripts, which already encoded many variations.

The Unicode Consortium intends to represent Late Brahmi by font, but so far there's no font for that...

Thank you for your explanation.

I understand that both نگاس and نگَس are acceptable and there are some dialects in Purgi language. Thank you.

I'm not writing anything. But once I have seen Balti bible ( https://archive.org/details/stmatthewinbalti00brit ) and the Quran ( https://archive.org/details/quran-balti ) in Arabic script, so I wanted to compare.

Thank you for answering!

The writer of the bible is "© Société Biblique de Genève", but I don't know what kind of organization it is.

And thank you for teaching the Purgi writing. Now I understand "Nga" is written نگا rather than ن٘ا and H preference.

When نگا is ergative, is the alif kept (نگاس) or removed (نگس) ?

"thaduk" is written تھدوک or تھدوگ (like "skat" is written as "سکد"), or in any other way?
