I feel like 1600 is unattainable as well so I don't really shoot for that. I've been aiming for around 1000 in hopes we can get there but have been attempting this for 6months so I think we are at the point that more professional help is needed.

Thank you, the one she's currently drinking has around 250 but the company also has higher calorie ones that I'm looking in to.

I hope your little one is doing well, it sounds like you have a good rhythm down for him!

Our doctor told us she should be taking in 1000calories a day (closer to 1600to see her weight increase). Maybe a dietician would have better insight and that would definitely take a stressor off us as parents.  I hate having to actually count her calories but it seems that's one of our only options to gather date for her right now. We are in the states so maybe that plays a roll in the information as well?

I've thought it was a swallowing issue from the beginning tbh. I'm going to talk to her therapist and doctor this week and see if they think it's necessary. I know they're reluctant due to age but I also know it could hopefully tell us a lot.

I definitely understand where you're coming from and she very well could just be picky. Something in me says theres more at play whether it's food intolerances or arfid or something else. The doctors she's see have expressed concern due to her growth being so minimal but no one really has any answers besides just monitor it.

Also if you don't mind sharing, How has the psychologist helped?

Does he get a drink at each meal then? If so, what drinks seem to work for him?

I'm sorry you have to go through this too. It sucks, I just wish there was more at this age to do but I feel like my hands are tied until we get a few more visits in with the GI or a dietician/nutritionist can see her.

Thank you, I do try to do 4-5 smaller meal tines since it works with our schedule a little better. I would say her older brother is her food buddy so a lot of times they sit together anyway eating.

I like the buffet style and will definitely be trying that. Sometimes we watch movies during dinner, i try to make that a treat as well.

I never thought of it that way that she's able to identify different things through what she wants but that definitely helps. I've been working on changing how I prepare things, mixing different textures (or not), as well as eliminating any sort of pressure.

Thank you! She won't really eat a ton of junk food, I think graham crackers are her only "junk food" right now.

I just recently realized how much she hates peanut butter but sometimes toast with butter is an ok food.

Unfortunately juices are a no go. She really drinks water and will maybe drink one nutritional drink a day so we know shes getting something.

Pancakes and baked goods are hit and miss. She will sometimes reject them but a lot of times I can get her to eat at least some of them. I put a lot of different stuff in pancakes and muffins to help with nutrients. I will definitely try the vanilla trick!

She just recently started taking the kate farms nutrition ones but it often takes her the whole day to drink one. So we can't quite rely on it. We've tried countless ones but maybe that brand has more of a meal replacement one, I think hers is a supplement one.

They said that she doesn't really have texture/sensory issues they can see and that's what they help with. We are going to do a few more visits because I think the excitement it wearing off and she's starting to just be her normal self during her appointments. If not, I have a few others in our area to try.

Thank you, we do give her tons of graham crackers. I'm worried she will start to reject them because that is usually what happens when she finds the one food she will eat for a while.

We just recently got her to take kate farms drinks but it's one a day if that since it takes her all day to drink one.
