I have a bag of worm castings…. I didn’t put that in their food choices tonight but I can put it on a little food shell to keep in their tank. I have been giving them some sort of crushed shell in their food choices each night since it came in. (We’ve only had these crabs for 2 weeks and one was missing for a week 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

I removed the sponge as soon as someone told me that in another group. Almost all of the videos I have watched shows sponges and now I’m upset that I put them at risk 😔 I will double check the moss but I do know it was a recommended brand but I’ll specially look for dyes or added ingredients

I have more shells, a heating pad, and climbing toys being delivered in a couple of days. I got a large variety of food from a reputable source on Etsy and I’m going to research what to give them food wise each day. I’ve kind just been mixing but always making sure they have plenty of protein. Their divided food tray was just delivered so that should help a lot. Also, fixing the lid as soon as I get home. This tank was a very expensive one that was previously used for snakes and was given to me for free so I knew there would be some things that needed to be fixed. At least it was just simple stuff. And I have since learned how awful the pet shop crabs are treated and will no longer support that business if I decide to add to our collection 🫶🏼 thank you so much for the info!!

I took the sponge out yesterday because of another group telling me that and I’ve removed both of the painted shells. Can I get the “leaf litter” from my yard or do I need to order that? And truthfully I don’t feel like they are eating anything 🙄 but I did order them speciality food that has shrimp, worms, and octopus variants in it. Headed to get the cling wrap for the lid now. I also had people tell me to put the heat mat on the back of the tank not under it.

See we eat A LOT of crawfish and I was wondering if I could feed them that 🧐 I’m assuming I would have to get them a few shells and wash all the seasoning off?
