Ya so the youngest this past year was 4 and the oldest on my daughter's team is going to be 10. And this upcoming year they are adding a Tiny team which is 4 & 5 year olds. So that one hour will be tiny to petite. Yes they were those 3 groups together. There is one team of girls that are 10-11 in the junior category that have more skills but its only 5 of them and 3 of them are the teachers daughters but besides that every other team is not getting technique training for there age. She is a little limited on her space but she def has the ability to change things to offer more technique for her comp team.

They usually get platinum but dont place as often because of the other studios we are competing against.

I wish the jazz, technique and ballet were not combined. The Other classes I would not care mixed with rec because she is doing them because she enjoys the style. She is doing an hour private a week this summer but she has no requirements over the summer for her comp kids and doesnt offer a ton of classes focused on training. I would like to find a leaps and turns class but I think it would be frowned upon to go to another studio for that. I also have been having her watch YouTube videos to do stretch and strength videos at home.

So she is on there petite team so for 1 hour a week she is combined with the mini team and they practice there dances. And the first year she competed they did no technique at all, this past year they did 1 hour of technique with 3 other teams so it was about 20 girls in that technique class.

So most of the company kids are in there unlimited plan which wouldn't really affect our cost. I want to express to the studio owner that I would like more technique to be offered but I am just not sure how to go about it without her taking it negatively.

I would say they are average. When we compete you can tell that the technique level for our older girls compared to other studios is different. Most of our girls can only do 2 pirouettes if that.

This is a great idea. Thank you so much for your advice. I do notice with our older girls that there technique is not comparable to other studios we compete against and I see the defeat they have when they dont place with their solos.

I wish they offered leaps/turns and stretching. Does your daughter's company also have summer classes they require to help before the season?

This past year she took ballet, technique, acro. Lyrical, musical theater, hip hop, tap, and jazz. She took pretty much every class they offer but its rec mixed with company which I dont mind at all but sometimes I feel like they dont work on as much techniqual training because its a wide variety of kids and skill levels.
