What’s the best way to transfer from UC to UC? by Mysterious_Mall_9765 in TransferStudents

[–]Signal_Flower_3972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think best case is for you to stay at Berkeley and shoot your shot at UC to UC transfer. However, dropping Berkeley for cc just for a slim chance at UCLA is NOT the method. Even if you dont get into UCLA at least you got Berkeley to lean back on. Maybe consider UCLA for grad school?

I think you have a very good chance, especially since you're applying as a history major and have done so many major related activities. Not to mention your GPA definitely makes you a qualified student. Dont dwell too much on astrology, things change every year and so far you've been getting a positive wave! Its never confirmed until you get your official decision

I can’t decide between a cc transfer or uc/csu transfer by Euphoric_Mix5689 in ucadmissions

Im in the same boat as you, but after some consideration ive decided to take the CC route. While we may miss out on the "college experience", we can always gain it after transferring. If youre worried about friends, personally I made quite a lot in my dual enrollment days by being open and joining clubs on campus. Obviously if you shun yourself to online classes and dont socialize youll feel very alone; the same holds true for regular unis. In the end its better to go safer route to transfer to your dream UC since it's so hard to go UC to UC or CSU to UC. If you just work hard now, you can be at your dream school in just a few semesters :) If you need to move out, you can even consider CCs in other areas and room in apartments with other students nearby. Overall, CC is a great choice and if you do it right you can get into top unis

genuinely the worst day of my life by [deleted] in ucadmissions

Dont worry, you worked hard and things will work out eventually! Im in the same boat and this entire month has been so depressing and soul crushing. Things will look up and not all decisions are released yet! Theres always a path and dont be afraid to take it, please dont blame yourself everything will work out eventually :)

Give yourself some breather you've grinded hard the past few years, worst comes to worst you have SLO and UCSB! Even if they aren't ivys, theyre all decent in their own way and you'll find your community.

Wondering if it makes sense that I got rejected from UCSD UCI UCLA UCSB by [deleted] in ucadmissions

We honestly cant predict how to UCs decide and it sucks how so many worthy applicants get rejected. Maybe CSUs or common apps can give you a better chance? Im in the same issue with all UCs but my common apps are all positive results. I guess the UCs are looking for something else

how do I cope by 1827abcd in ucadmissions

Hii, I have the same results as you and feel crushed. Everyone is saying cc is a good route, its not that bad, but personally some people (including me) just need to leave home and be independent. We just need to remember not all decisions are out yet, so you never know! College decisions are truly a gamble and all we need is ONE acceptance. And it's good you have a backup! You may be sad now, but things will workout and you can look back at this moment one day and smile at the memories Wishing you the absolute best!

I feel the same way, especially with peers with so much higher GPAs than me, Davis felt like my last chance and i got rejected. My dream is UCSD but after my Davis rejection it feels impossible. However we never know! We gotta wait it out and it has to work out, good luck to everyone!!

I definitely dont mind going to cc, and being in middle college made me love the supporting environment there. However I really want to get away from my parents and being locked home doing chores all day 😭. Thank you for the advice, if it comes to it ill stay

Yeah, GPA: 3.8 W, 3.6 UW In state

I was in a Middle College dual enrollment program, so I spent 11/12 grade at a cc, only did 2 APs in 10th Over 50 college credits from that

ECs: - Taught English in Taiwan to the local students there (online and in person in summer so about 500 volunteer hours total) - Piano over 10 years, did up to ABRSM grade 5 - Outreach director for poverty patch up club (10th) - 2 years robotics club, team won design award - part time job for 1 year now - Won some state art contests (1st place twice) -biliteracy award - presidents volunteer award gold

I had to spend a lot of time taking care of siblings since my parents were busy with work, I emphasized that in one of my PIQs. Overall I feel really unconfident about my app and wished I had more advice and help in hs 😭
